Would you expect to be told about this as a wedding guest?

Who do you think would care about this?

I’ve seen some off the wall questions on this forum, but this one might just…take the cake.

Absolutely. I also need the name and health record of the caterer in advance. How else can I interview each employee to see how clean they are? Doesn’t everyone?

Yes.

Yelp had a feature that allowed you to see health inspections. I don’t know if they still have it but it was certainly educational!

For all you know, the commercial bakery might have mice or roaches. Don't ever work in the restaurant business. You won't like what you find in the kitchen.

Don't try to reason with these people.

I still remember a co-worker complaining that her wedding cake was frozen because the bakery makes all the tiers ahead of time and freezes them until it's time to construct and decorate. That's how they bakeries handle the high volume of orders on the weekends.

Was she complaining that it was still frozen on her wedding day or complaining that it was frozen in advance at all? Just curious. Sorry for the sidetrack.

Home bakers/bakeries to not need any certs or inspections. Bakeries at home are excluded. It's the only food job excluded.

Depending on the area, food inspections are so rudimentary as to be laughable. Was there vermin or vermin poop? Is there hot running water? Is there soap in the dispensers? Are things dripping on other things? Was the refrigerator at temp?

I’m concerned about home cooking, but not home baking for things like wedding cakes.
