Yep. Charter schools and profit universities for all. |
| I don’t want any religion in schools. |
+1. And I don’t want vouchers. And if there are vouchers, religious schools should be wholly ineligible. |
Vouchers will destroy public education |
I’m sure their list of what makes someone “qualified” for a government position is different from yours. 10 Presidents did not have a college degree. |
It’s already been destroyed. Take a look at the educational outcomes and performances at the schools/children that don’t have heavy parent involvement at home. |
Yes I agree. Although even without them, many middle class and upper middle class parents are fleeing even “good” public schools due to ESL and IEP’s run amok. Schools are having to handle both without enough staff and funding and the “regular” kids are getting lost. My kids are in HS now and want to finish where they are, but if I had little kids starting out, I don’t think I’d send them to our “good” public school. |
Define heavy parent involvement at home? |
I grew up with tons of ESL students in Arizona. They do not slow down class! IEPs weren’t a thing when I was in school. We just held the kids with ADHD back. People who move their kids because of ESL students don’t know anything and operate on false assumptions. My kids attend a Title 1 DCPS high school in DC. My senior has become a wonderful writer. They are getting a great education. We shall see where my senior goes to college in the Fall. If I had younger kids, I would send them on the same educational path. We don’t supplement at home either. We also both have PhDs. |
DP here. Parents supervising homework and test studying, essentially teaching or reteaching material that wasn’t taught in school. I’ve had to do this all along with my kids in “good” public schools. Teachers now teach from “slides” and YouTube videos and material is often not mastered, or understood at all. |
You understand not all public schools are equal, right? |
While this is true, the last of these 10 was Harry Truman, and before that William McKinley. To put it another way - since women gained the right to vote, 17 of our 18 presidents had college degrees. |
Hello my fellow Arizonan. Just letting you know most of us kids with ADHD did not get held back! I had teachers that had me sit in the hallway, teachers that had me write “I will not talk with my friends” 1000 times, I had teachers that let me take plays of breaks and go walk to bathroom, car, etc., or work on other things. I figured out accommodations for myself and teachers gave me lots of accommodations along the way without any legal requirements to do so. Sorry k know this is off topic but just objecting to your characterization of kids with adhd. The magnet schools were full of them! |
Trump and Biden have are living, well almost dead but still living, proof that any fool can get a college degree. |
He will yes he born a he. He will destroy it look at Oklahoma here we go all across the country |
