May I direct you to Arlington County's "Expanded Housing Opportunities" (formerly know as Missing Middle) for all the info needed to effectively oppose "attainable housing." It has turned into an expensive fiasco for Arlington County, and it will soon be paying for multiple lawsuits caused by the Board's ill-conceived embrace of Expanded Housing Opportunities. |

Keep republicans out of MOCO
|
Developer rhetoric. It's nonsense, but probably effective with poorly informed voters. |
That one was even much more reasonable in that it issued a certain number of exemptions to build multifamily annually, and I believe that after five years they were to assess the outcomes. The one proposed in MOCO is much more insidious. If even every person that signed this petition tossed some tens of dollars into a legal fund there would be quite a legal warchest. https://www.change.org/p/protect-single-family-zoning-in-montgomery-county |
Yeah, it's not the developers saying Elrich is a Marxist. It's the Montgomery County Republicans, some of whom post prolifically on this forum. |

Here is a series about who the next CE will be, and spoiler, they pick Friedson.
“Even in a Montgomery County Democratic primary, the pendulum is swinging from the far-far left toward the center left in 2026 compared to 2022. If this trend is reality in June of ’26, that’s Andrew Friedson’s lane.” “If attainable housing doesn’t do him in, he should be our next county exec.” https://montgomeryperspective.com/2024/11/22/who-will-be-the-next-county-executive-part-six/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR1U6D4v3Vb-eRPaEDKzUArMA32EK6hN-DNJ5mvP6b1x6xV87ahnZw2uPns_aem_d-ubE_ht_XdLLOfmslgzNQ |
Yes, no doubt the Save Westbard people supported Elrich because they are far-far left. Wait, what? |
Friedson is a buffoon. Anyone that has interacted with him in person knows it. His only advantage is fundraising. |
I am curious how much of fundraising will stick around when his friends and neighbors realize that he is a proponent of them living next door to an apartment building. |
Some of his friends and neighbors live in apartment buildings. |
Most of his money comes from developers and the handful of law firms that practice before the planning board. The law firms love him because he won’t reform the planning process, which would cut into their billable hours. He’s also proposed many subsidies that people hire the law firms to testify for. |
Even if everyone contributed $100 there would only be about $200k in the war chest. That’s not even enough for a good complaint. This is easily the dumbest statement I’ve read since opening up to any random page of the AHS. |
How much did the plaintiffs spend in Arlington? Do you know? Why don’t you get yourself a warm blanket and hot cup of STFU and do some research. Now, how much did Arlington spend at $750/hour only to LOSE? Seven figures of taxpayer money. Money that people worked for and entrusted their government representatives to spend ethically. They should be investigated. |
Id do it if someone got it going. |
I mean, he's a DSA member who hates job-creating big business. That's about as close to a Marxist as one can get in the US. |
