Here is a series about who the next CE will be, and spoiler, they pick Friedson. “Even in a Montgomery County Democratic primary, the pendulum is swinging from the far-far left toward the center left in 2026 compared to 2022. If this trend is reality in June of ’26, that’s Andrew Friedson’s lane.” “If attainable housing doesn’t do him in, he should be our next county exec.” https://montgomeryperspective.com/2024/11/22/who-will-be-the-next-county-executive-part-six/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR1U6D4v3Vb-eRPaEDKzUArMA32EK6hN-DNJ5mvP6b1x6xV87ahnZw2uPns_aem_d-ubE_ht_XdLLOfmslgzNQ
Friedson is a buffoon. Anyone that has interacted with him in person knows it. His only advantage is fundraising.
I am curious how much of fundraising will stick around when his friends and neighbors realize that he is a proponent of them living next door to an apartment building.
Most of his money comes from developers and the handful of law firms that practice before the planning board. The law firms love him because he won’t reform the planning process, which would cut into their billable hours. He’s also proposed many subsidies that people hire the law firms to testify for.
