10 year cant recite states

Also teach your kids the names of the Supreme Court justices. Their Representatives and two senators in U.S. Congress. And delegate and senators in their home state an what issues they work on, and areas of possible interest for your kids. Much needs to be done and covered outside of school.

OP here..thanks all, clearly much work needs to be done on my part since she is asserting that North Korea is one of our states.

I have spent hundreds of hours tutoring her over years and will add geography to the list.

Her MCPS education has been a huge disappointment but it is what it is.

Judging from her parent, I can see why.

First time my kids did it, they collaborated with a young adult couple on a date next to us. That led them to an obsession to race to complete before the other sibling. One was about six the other nine. You can solve this yourself, OP. It's an arbitrary data point that really doesn't represent any measure of education.

You can tell who went to private and who went to public schools this way. My kid switched to private school in MS and was do happy to finally learn stuff (content). He learned about vague crap like communities for years in public ES.

Oh good, less stuff for my kids to learn.

Now they're in college and one in the last year of HS and it's all gone out of their heads. You can google that stuff.

The process of learning how to memorize is still serving them well though.

I went to a top college and the top law school, and I'm not sure I could name the Supreme Court justices until I was well into law school. This seems to me to be excessive to expect from a ES kid. There's more important stuff to know than knowing who Samuel Alito and Amy Barrett are. And I have no idea who my delegate and state senator are. In fact, I think I get weekly emails from them and I STILL don't know their names.

Actually teaching what states comprise our nation should be a school issue. But they're busy teaching radical gender rights.

It's not hard.

Play this many times for her.

Why would I teach my kids the names of the illegitimate Supreme Court justices? Most of these were nominated by Republicans who, until recently, hadn't won a popular vote in 30 years. They're out of touch with mainstream Americans, and their corruption is well-documented.
