Anyone have their GenZ son convert to Trump?

Socialism does not work.

Weird. Kamala Harris isn't socialist. Who told him the options were Trump or socialism? You? Do you lie to your son? Or are you so dumb that you don't know Kamala Harris isn't socialist, you thought it was true, and your son is just as dumb as you and also now think's it's true? Or does your son know you're dumb and is just going along with it to humor you? Which of these is it?

Men have a better understanding of the world and economics than women so it’s no surprise to me many are Republican

Is that why men start all the wars?

Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney in government. What can go wrong?

I'm with PP who questioned OP's use of the term "convert" - this isn't about religion so the use of the term "convert" is ridiculous.

We don't discuss who is voting for who in our household very much because we respect everyone's right to vote for whomever they wish. FWIW DH is voting Trump and I'm voting Harris.

I suspect my GenZ son will be voting for Trump based on our conversations. He is a college educated professional dating a beautiful young lady. Not sure if they even talk politics or whether she has any influence on him or how he votes (and honestly I don't know her well enough to know which way she leans). Either way, I respect his vote and if he votes for Trump I honestly understand where he's coming and respect his choice.

I am certainly not going to disown my son just because he votes for Trump.

Trump in government = chaos and a threat to our national security, per many in the intelligence community and generals.

My Gen Z son is voting for Harris but is voting for non-MAGA conservatives down-ballot, and voting against progressive ballot measures in our blue state.

He would never vote for Trump ever, but he really dislikes the extreme left.

Observation— the OP asked for our experiences. There’s only a couple of people in people in our circles who are facing this, and it’s boys who would have been fine in the 70’s-80’s because there was less competition (globally and domestically) but now are looking at achieving less than their fathers and deeply resenting it.

The Harvard-bound neighbor is out canvassing for Harris this weekend.

Bolded is definitely the psychology of why there’s a gender divide amongst young people. I don’t think it’s a majority, and there are plenty of boys who have different issues motivating them that would make them want to vote for Harris (maybe they’re pro-choice, maybe they’re LGBTQ or have a family member that is).

But there’s a noticeable trend of diverging views between GenZ boys and girls.

I also agree with another PP that said where they don’t discuss who’s voting for who with their family. I can definitely see pro-Trump young people keeping quiet about it due for social desirability reasons. Young people are very concerned with how others view them.

Anonymous wrote:Convert means they were something before. Actually, both my cousins are voting Trump. One is 19, the other is 21. Girl and boy.

Biden and Democrats have done nothing to tackle affordable educatation and student loan debt, they don't like the crime increase in cities, don't like inflation, and are concerned about the numbers of undocumented migrants coming into the country. They had no idea who random kids would be who'd show up in schools in their classes during some years and then completely disappear the next year. Supposedly one of the guys who was a sophomore in high school with them admitted to being something like a 23 year old guy. He could get in because he had no verifiable identity.

Lies. The SAVE program has alleviated significant amounts of debt. Republican have blocked other proposed measures. And you are utterly ignorant of college admissions policy.

Wow.

Biden and the Dems have done a ton to help higher education costs and relieve student debt, but they cannot "dictate" the cost of college.
Crime is generally not up in cities (it is in DC) and per capita, crime is higher in red states than blue states.
Inflation was a result of COVID and is back to where it was before COVID. Again, a president cannot dictate the cost of good and services.

For all of these issues, what are Trump's plans? How is he going to reduce costs or the price of education?

I am woe'd for the lack of education and critical thinking if this is how students these days are "doing their research"

Trump has a concept of a plan.

And we know that life of a plan begins at conception.

Except Donald Trump, except on Wednesdays or in Florida, or something.

Canned MAGA talking points.

Not sure where you live or what schools your children go to, but the bold is true in our non-DMV suburban HS. Often, the “kids” (18+ as sophomores and juniors) are bold enough to openly say so (because they know nothing will happen to them or their families because of the “can’t ask” mantra of admins) or our DC know more than enough Spanish to understand overheard conversations bragging of the situation. The ELL or ESOL (or whatever acronym is du jour) budgets are completely blown in the earlier grades and most (teachers and students) just seem to give up trying in HS and take the hit on SOL/assessments.

While maybe not true everywhere, it’s not just some talking point and it’s to the D detriment to ignore or, worse, deny reality.

Oh ok. So it’s just a wild claim with zero evidence.

The other way around. Friend's daughter voted for Trump, now she voted for Harris.

I wasn’t going to respond, but since nobody else is answering the op’s actual real question, I will answer too. My teen son is voting Trump on Tuesday. We are also voting Trump. I’m conservative and dh is more moderate, but still voting Trump. My son saw the changes in the economy and how horrible the country is being run under Biden/Harris and he is old enough to remember how good things were when Trump was president, so that is why he is voting for Trump. He is worried about the future of our country if Harris is elected. He is 18 and in his first year of college.

Well you sons can never get pregnant and face death like my Gen Z daughters. We are completely afraid of a second term Trump but, you don't care that more women/girls are going to die. It is all about the economy. Even though he was born on third base and had so many failures.

Why don't you believe all the Republicans that are telling us not to vote for him? When have you seen any candidate have his former cabinet members/generals say he is a threat to Democracy and is in fact Fascist? I don't get it. Do you honestly believe they are ALL wrong?
