Simon was hard on all the boys. The thought was Liam would be the head singer but that quickly changed

Some people blame Simon for every problem anyone from 1D has because he had them on an incredibly packed schedule - they were recording one album while touring a prior one and then would maybe get a month off before touring the next one. Simon pushed them pretty hard.

His girlfriend had been there with him and then left on the 14th (Monday). Her leaving could have been planned or it could be there were also relationship problems as well.

I have never really understood why men get so much hate for wanting their partner to have an abortion as they don’t want to be a father. Women want to have abortions and do have abortion all the time because they don’t want to be a mother. Only women can act on it but both have the same feelings.

It's one thing to express you don't want to become a father and would prefer the woman you impregnated abort, but it's another to make her abort at home, and then leave her there alone bleeding and scared and tell her she can't tell anyone.

He has struggled with poor mental health or maybe mental illness and addiction for a long time. Reports out seem to say he became belligerent and aggressive smashing his laptop and making a mess when he was told he couldn’t use the pool due to his state of intoxication. He then smashed up the hotel room as well. If the pictures of the hotel room are real then he was doing a lot of drugs.

What about his relationship with Cheryl? I always felt uncomfortable with it. I remember talking to my daughter that their union should not be looked up too

It's that she's 10 years older than him and he had a crush on her when she was a judge during his X factor contestant days. Then after his success with 1D, they had a son.

While growing up and life can be hard for many, fame and fortune at a young age almost always corrupts and destroys and distresses.

I am fifty-five & have to admit…this news was a huge shock to me.

Probably because all of my own kids are older than him.

I cannot even imagine what his parents must be going through during this most tragic time.

Currently it is not known if he actually intentionally fell off the balcony or it was a tragic accident.

I am reading reports that he was acting erratic in the lobby just prior.

Saw One Direction at National Park in 2014 with my daughters. It’s a sweet memory. Liam’s death is hitting them hard, since he was one of their first boy crushes.

What about it? There was a 10 year age gap; Cheryl was 33 and Liam 23 when they had their son. They dated for 2 years, starting when Liam was 21. Do you have a problem with men in their 30’s who date women in their 20’s?

Based on the photos from inside his hotel room he was in a full on bender and rage--smashed the tv, tons of drug paraphernalia. The hotel had reported him to police because he was in the lobby smashing his laptop. So sad. The guy obviously had talent and could have taken his career in a more positive direction like his bandmates. my daughter was sad to hear the news.

It really won’t be much. This is a guy that had some success in his teens and 20s and was never a significantly bankable entertainer after that. I’m not dunking on him, just the facts. These folks never have as much money as people think. Most of their early earnings go to their management, and that’s if there are not predatory family members or other types in the mix.
