Tesla cyber trucks are so ugly

Anonymous
Funky shape but far too big to be cute. Impractical as a "truck." Sort of green technology but executed in a way that negates almost all of the positives - huge and resource intensive to build. Super heavy so any cars or pedestrians that it hits will be crushed. Shouts: "Look at me, I have money and everyone knows I don't care." Gets endless attention wherever it goes and keeps us talking about Elon.

In other words, it is PERFECT. Mr. Musk could not be more pleased with this truck. Honestly.

They are the crocs of automobiles so over time they will embraced and its aesthetic normalized even though they're hideous

OP - very good points … I was wondering about the green side of things - if the negatives outweigh any gains.

Elon takes risks most of us would not and it has paid off for him and many who have invested in his other cars and rocket ships. He seems to be pretty much off the rails now so not sure this cyber truck thing will pay off for him. Maybe it was worth experimenting with though to see if the many people who love trucks and big cars could indulge that and be greener.

It's not a truck. It can't tow, it can't haul, and it's useless off road

I heard the Cybertruck called “the Axe Body Spray of trucks/cars.”

It's a Fruck.

God no. I wouldn't be seen dead wearing crocs. Why do you think some of us normalize hideous things? Is it because a large swathe of the country is thinking of voting for Trump?

Safety innovation can be rolled back easily.

Most embarrassing car on the road.

I am not a car person, so no idea whether this is accurate, but someone told me they are all manufactured in that gunmetal color, then it’s actually a wrap (rather than paint) to get any other color?

Yes this is correct. And it takes a while to get the wrap done. I have a friend in another state who has one and I’ve ridden in it. I hate it just like everyone else in the thread but on the inside it’s just like a luxury car, so roomy, and a very comfortable ride. It was enjoyable to be a passenger and I imagine pretty cool to drive it. But yeah, the shape and finish are hideous (but the look is better once the truck is wrapped in a nice color).

I came across literally 5 of them last night, I was confused for some reason why the hell these are suddenly becoming so popular.

Then again, it's coming from something that Elon Musk wanted to do, so do you expect anything from the rich man whose the same guy who bought Twitter 2 years ago?

The black one looked cool. It looked like a Mars rover.

The Hummer H1 was big and awesome. The Cybertruck is just completely ridiculous.

They look like a door wedge, you know, the wedge you shove under a door to keep it open.

I was on the highway yesterday behind a Cybertrunk being towed on a flatbed, and all I could see was that big sheet of stainless steel in the back. It looked like a discarded appliance.
