Well, there is some credible evidence which is going mainstream. Personally, I'm reserving belief since so much still classified. Maybe it bothers him that you are not more open minded. Like the world is flat earthers, including you, who are closed off to evidence. Could you just listen without shutting him down?

OP the issue seems to be that he is a one note Nancy about this topic, regardless of the probability of it. He can have an opinion but taking it to the extreme/talking about it all the time/going nonverbal after yelling/storming off is worth addressing with an MD. This sounds like mental illness and you are right to be concerned.

PS it could be about how the earth is round and his fixation would still be a problem.

I'm also one that's pretty sure that aliens exist. I also believe that if something requires 100s of people to keep a secret, it's a conspiracy theory.
