Next Door is propaganda from White Racist Trumpies.

The stupidity of what they post is just absurd.
They never answer with evidence or facts just "TDS" or "libs" blah blah blah. When challenged they repeat propaganda that Russia or Trump is spewing.

Then there are the ones claiming they are moderate by using the vocabulary word "moderate" want people to think their agenda is not RW when it is full on RW. They try to hide who they really are. Do a deep dive online easy to figure out their real agenda.
In Montgomery County we have,
ie Moderately MOCO, Montgomery Perspective, Montgomery County Taxpayers League, just to name a few.
The 1st Amendment gives them the right to spew just like it gives me the right to post my opinion here. They don't like when people disagree with them. Again easy to figure out their agenda once one reads their words online.

Next Door does not do a great job of weeding out Racism or hate or propaganda.

My elected representative posts on Nextdoor. That's the kind of people on there. The one's who don't have anything to do.

More educated, yes.

Smarter? Absolutely not.

Without a doubt, some of the dumbest people I’ve ever encountered in life have been people here with Ivy degrees.

As the saying goes, "Most of the highly 'educated' are actually just highly indoctrinated."

I've not heard this before, but oh how it resonates.

Lots of lost dogs
Asking for a recommendation for a home repair or improvement and getting contractors replying
What’s that siren for
Anywhere hear a helicopter
What’s this bug
Cars broken into

That encompasses mine.

Good list
Plus pics of wild birds and animals in people’s yards

Was that fireworks or gunshots?

Done? Just keep that stuff in the background, that's all.

I am registered on Nextdoor and usually delete post updates when they land in my inbox, but occasionally one will grab my attention, and I'll click on it and read the thread: either because it's so crazy it's fun, or because it's actually useful. I don't post myself.

Thank goodness for my our neighborhood private listserv! I hope ours continues. I agree with many postings here that Nextdoor is all noise.

What are the benefits of ND? What do you use it for? I can get all the needed information from my HOA group.

I know I have the ugliest lawn in the neighborhood so I avoid Nextdoor.

This is true in regard to so many of the responses on ND.
I often feel sad reading threads on ND where people continuously chime in responding: "That was what I thought!" or with some ridiculous retort that they think is clever (but never is).
I believe that they are old seniors more or less bored and confined to their screens for social interaction. It makes me sad.

That can happen when people assume that “Ivy” means something other than a sports league.

ND has become the refuge for every complaining, socially rejected, self-righteous busybody out there. There is a nasty lady on our street whose pursuit of social validation through ND is probably clinical.

Nextdoor great for reuniting lost pets either owners. DCUM full of people you wish would get lost.
