I’m sorry, but Nextdoor is too much. The public shaming, the complaining, the silly aliases, the inane topics, the attention grabs, all of it. |
This describes basically all "social media". It's a bane on society. |
I agree that the IQ on Nextdoor is miles below the one on DCUM. For all its meanness, DCUM is special because its users are on average smarter and more educated than the general pop. |
More educated, yes. Smarter? Absolutely not. Without a doubt, some of the dumbest people I’ve ever encountered in life have been people here with Ivy degrees. |
I never see any astrology threads on Nextdoor. |
If I could get ND to only send me things about my neighborhood it would be ok but even with only my neighborhood checked, I get much more. I keep meaning to shut it off. |
When they made that change, I stopped using it. I'll check in once a month to seenif there's anything important, but there never is. |
Not stupid, but they know lot about few things and nothing about many other things. Nextdoor has lots of unstable people who hope to get help telling some sob story. Makes me ignore the ones who really may need a little help. Too many lost dog stories go on forever. |
DW won't look at it due to the endless flood of snake pictures. "I saw this snek in my backyard, how long do I have to get to the hospital?" |
So, don't use it. I stopped years ago. |
Ok Jan sure. **rolls eyes** |
The inane topics on NextDoor are why I stay. My sister lives halfway across the country and we compete to see whose neighborhood is weirder. |
My Nextdoor is currently filled w/political rhetoric.
Local, state, federal…… It IS insane. Seems the app has lost its original goal which is to inform/guide neighbors, etc. 🙁 |
It’s no worse than DCUM. More posts about dog poops in yards and fewer silly posts about whether women should stop seeing random men they sleep with. |
What topics do people generally post about on Nextdoor? |
