Even if you could, you would then have to change out the smaller goals for larger goals in the fifteen minutes between games and then anchor the new goals into the ground.

Tell your coach to insist it be switched to a home game on your club's extra field space.

No, you don't "tell" your coach to do anything. WTAF.

With rec coaches, sometimes you do. Many of them have never coached in NCSl before, they don't know the fields, they don't know the rules.

I'm really tired of NCSL just letting any random org sign up and having zero quality control. Its a huge downgrade from SFL. SFL would not let these far away Fredericksburg orgs join for a reason. SFL would not let orgs join if they didn't have field space. We never had games far away or games with fly by night rec orgs when SFL was in charge. Its not fair to the kids to have games canceled b/c they are too far away OR because the opponent won't pay for proper field permits.

Would NCSL let club U16 games be played on a field like this?

You can't use the same size goals for u-little and older kid games. I don't see how reinstalling and installing goals after every game is feasible. Is the field going to be lined and measured out for both U11 and U16 games?

Who is going to be resetting the field and changing out installed goals between every game? This sounds nuts to me. You need sandbags as well, correct?

We have a high school field that we use for 9v9 and 11v11. The goals take 5 minutes to move off of the field and the flags take a few seconds. It's not a big deal

You do need sandbags for popup goals.

The grass field visible in the satellite view is not enough space for the required minimum 50 yard by 100 yard field, leaving clearance to avoid running into the baseball fence. You can tell by comparing it to the Park View HS football field, which is about 20 yards longer and maybe 2 feet wider than 50x100.

I think its great that someone wanted to start a basically free community sports program, and grass fields are fine, but there does need to be minimum standards met.

For older, faster players, I would think you would need at least 10-15 feet from the sideline to a hazard like a metal fence to avoid it being collided with.

Without the fence, it would maybe be doable but it would still be probably not 100 yards lengthwise.

How are they paying for officials for their girls' games if the girls are playing for free? Just honestly curious as to how that works.

Obviously, they got the field for free but they still need to buy 4 goals and line it.

You use popup goals, tent stakes and sandbags? Or goals on wheels?

The guy who runs the club, who is also going to be cosplaying as the solo "referee" (probably whilst also coaching!) is also going to be moving goals and sandbags around and installing and reinstalling goals, I imagine. Like one man performance art. (oh, and the referee is the one in charge of deciding if a field is safe for play....)

He's probably a nice guy who means well, but the kids on the opponent teams who paid $200 for 8 rec soccer games have reasonable expectations of a normal game field, normal referees, normal goals, etc.

LOL no one uses pop up goals! I have had 2 kids play in NCSL and not even their U9 or U10 games were ever played with pop up goals.

Regardless, I don't think the goals are the issue. If you show up to a nice grass field and there are safely installed popup goals that are the correct size, no big deal. The dealbreaker with this field is that home run fence. There is no way to lay out a soccer field to give enough clearance away from the fence and to have the field be a reasonable size for 11 v 11 play.

Goals on wheels. The full size goals are permanent, the 9x9 and on wheels and chained together off the field when not in use. With parents helping, the change is easy to make during warmups
