Ncsl schedule, field at Sterling Elementary?

They aren't even charging their girl players. That field is going to be a s-show and for sure they will only be paying for one ref. The "ref" will probably be the director in a ref shirt.

I live nearby. There is no soccer field at Sterling ES nor is there room for one.

The NCSL doesn't have minimum standards for the fields teams can use? They shouldn't accept teams into their league who don't have appropriate permitted field space.

Tell your coach to insist it be switched to a home game on your club's extra field space.

Agree. NCSL should be ashamed that they are putting this problem on the opponent clubs to solve individually instead of refusing to schedule full sided games in this location. Clubs shouldn't be allowed into the league without access to field space. It costs more money to get permits for proper soccer fields. Elementary grass fields are free to use but no one expects them to be used for full sided games.

It would be hilarious (and expected) if they didn't bother getting permits and kids were there playing on the fields when the games are scheduled

Is that a metal baseball field fence running all along on the soccer "field" space? Yikes.

No, you don't "tell" your coach to do anything. WTAF.

The goals are different sizes for the 9 v 9 games and the 11 v 11 games.

Did this brand new rec league buy four different size goals on wheels ($$$$) to leave at the field and they are going to reorganize the field between games? That seems really unlikely, but you can't play with the wrong size goals.

I'm a little puzzled as to what the plan is here that NCSL clearly approved.

Look at their website, they have popup goals not actual goals. This seems like a club focused on poor kids trying to provide organized sport. I doubt they have the resources to get proper fields let alone goals

Its not really an area where you would want to leave expensive items like large portable goals just sitting out on a field 24-7, but you also can't exactly transport goals that big back and forth to set up and take down the field just for Saturday games.

when our club bought new goals they were thousands of dollars EACH. there aren't metal poles on that field where nets can be strung up so they have to have freestanding goals.

You can't play a U16 game with popup goals.

Sterling rec soccer provides financial aid and manages to play games on real fields.

Team manager / team admin needs to email the opposing club (team admin, coach and club director, if their contact information is available), to ask what the plan is, since Sterling Elementary does not have an 11v11 field. Based on that response, then escalate to the league. Or copy the league in the first place.

Field Standards

Field (pitch) and goal size must be certified by the club representatives as meeting NCSL standards:

All fields must be rectangular.
For U13 and older age groups, fields must be at least 100 yards long by 50 yards wide, and goals shall be approximately 8 feet high and 24 feet wide.

Fields must also provide safe playing conditions. Goals must be anchored securely to the ground. Portable goals may be used only if they satisfy this requirement. Should a referee not allow a game to be played because of unsafe field conditions (non-weather related), and the unsafe conditions are confirmed by the league, the home team may forfeit the game and all subsequent games until such time as the unsafe conditions have been corrected and verified by a league representative

I don't think this is possible based on the satellite view given the position of the metal fence.

Is it even possible to anchor pop up goals into the ground? I have never seen an NCSL game played with popup goals.
