Well played. |
Not that Weezer is punk, but a friend said this to me ten years ago when I was thinking about my outfit for a punk show and I'll never forget it.
"Flip, I can't think of anything more punk than planning your outfit days in advance." |
Good arms are nice too. |
I feel like I need to go very Devil Wears Prada here - but do you think that these guys just fell out of the coconut tree like this? ![]() Or these guys - they just woke up and happened to look like this? ![]() How about Debbie Harry - was she allowed to give some thought to her clothes or was it also incredibly uncool for her to care about her appearance? ![]() She just happened to have these boots lying around - or she carefully selected a pair of amazing boots, put them on, and thought about how to look both cool and sexy? ![]() |
There has been plenty of gossip but he never did anything AWFUL per se. Apparently he used to send his flunkies into the audience to find any Asian ladies and bring them backstage. He made a big deal out of making sure they were of legal age first. Then of course he would disappear afterwards, leaving the women sad that they weren't special after all. OP wear a tight tank top with a good bra. I feel like that is always eye catching. |
Is that The Ramones? Yes, I think they always looked like that. I also think it's different for performers vs. audience. If OP wants to look good and attract attention that's understandable. But it's a Weezer concert. I like Weezer but they're dorks. A tank or tee that fits well and jeans that fit well works fine. |
They did not just happen to have four matching leather jackets. They went out and bought them, and decided to all wear them. Those jackets had cultural meaning and cache. Yes the Ramones could have worn a dirty towel as a skirt and they'd look cool - but they didn't just wear a dirty towel; they put on these uniforms that were their brand, and that were incredibly intentional. Being in the audience of a show is sort of a performance of its own. Why do you think there's a whole tradition of concert pics that include photos of the audience? Why do Beyonce and Taylor Swift show-goers put so much thought into their appearance? Yes, Weezer is a whole different thing - it's 90s slacker stuff, so you're not supposed to look like you put any thought into what you're wearing, unlike with Beyonce or Taylor where it's not shameful to get dressed up. But OP is excited - she wants to think about her outfit. She's not going to wear a gold dress and friendship bracelets to Weezer (though why not, if she wants to?). But thinking about what to wear that will fit in with the occasion and also help her attract a potential mate - there is nothing wrong with that. |
Debbie Harry’s bangs are 🔥 |
ok gramps, let's get you back to bed |
They all look great, but if I saw a 45 year old suburban mom show up at a Weezer concert in any of those outfits, I would laugh hard. |
Thanks to those of you who aren’t judging and understand! I’m tired of feeling like I should be ashamed because I have desires and needs and I still might enjoy a hook up or flirt with a guy. Yes, I might have kids and I might be divorced, but that doesn’t make me not attractive anymore or not want to have a little fun once in a while. I am a big Pinkerton and blue album Weezer fan and like I said, I’m very attracted to dorky guys. I myself am a dork. |
Wow. You suck. I would not wear those things but I wouldn’t laugh, hard. In fact, when I see women dressed up at a show in more outrageous clothing or rock n roll style, I’m actually highly impressed and also intrigued by their confidence and choices. I often find myself saying Man, I should’ve done something cool or I should’ve gone out a little more than I did. But that’s just me. |
Do you have a suggestion for the OP? |
Hard to explain but this and the other concert OP just seen so try-hard like they want to look a certain way to get it right, as opposed to "having a fun night out and love this outfit I'm wearing." Maybe it just doesn't translate well to writing a post online. But it has an odd vibe. |
This. No one cares. |
