Women’s clothing at the Olympics

Why don't other sports like mens gymnastics, break dancing and mens pole vault feel compelled to show off their incredible bodies? It feels too much like Hollywood where women are pressured into nude scenes, ignoring their acting chops.

So the fast marathon runners can wow us with their skills, and the also rans are left wowing us with their abs and underwear outfits?

You mean the gold medalist sprinters? Don’t watch the Olympic events that so offend you.

I have seen some female runners opt for more fabric to cover themselves. I am curious about whether the athletes can opt for better coverage. Can a gymnast say that they aren’t wearing the half butt leotards

I feel like the Olympics ultimately diminishes women by showcasing women’s bodies which do not naturally exist for 99.9% of real women.

Have you seen men’s diving? Do they need to wear those skimpy Speedos to perform the dives?

I think one day they’ll look back and think, “Hot damn, I was an Olympian!” And will never spend a second regretting their competition attire.

They are still covering more than the beach volleyball women

I was happy to see the Brazilian women beach volleyball players wearing real shorts while smashing the Americans who frantically struggled while showing half a butt.

They'll be like me wearing more clothes, which at least covers the scars from the skin cancer biopsies.

No, I'm talking about the rest of the marathon field running in underwear.

You need to follow Ilona Maher if you think many Olympic bodies don’t represent women.

You’re only looking at 3-4 sports.

Look at rugby, look at shot put, hammer throw.

Probably they don't have to. Maybe they want to show off longer legs to the judges, because a lot of them are short. I did see one covering his front with a chamois afterwards who must have been sick of the viral photos.

They had a choice of multiple outfits to wear that’s what they chose.

When I do hot yoga, I choose a similar outfit

I'm watching the mens basketball. Most of them are wearing compression tights or socks. How come the female beach volleyball players don't think they'd benefit from compression leggings?

I wouldn't want to do a sport requiring a Brazilian wax.

love to get sand in my compression socks.

Lol. Many of us will have regrets in life but “I wish I didn’t show off my body when I was young and hot” is rarely among them.

Also, these are women used to competing and can make decisions for themselves.
