Looks like a boycott is brewing. More right wing cancel culture in action. How stupid do you have to be to park in a private lot with signs saying towing enforcement for non customers next to Bojangles Coliseum-ie a stadium? The Fox coverage does not match the local news outlet cover. $380 cash to get your car! Guess it was not free parking.

Local coverage.
Many we talked to claim the employees gave them the green light to leave their cars there while they attended the rally.
“They said we could park,” said another.
“The managers inside promised them they could park here,” Zandar DeSoto said.
We talked to the on-duty manager this morning, and they said:
“I told several people they cannot park here. We have a towing-enforced sign. That’s my statement.”

The manager probably collected $50 or $100 cash each tow s/he called in. That's how these predatory towing scams work.

It isn't predatory when the area had huge signs and people ignored them.

Yes, it is. A parking ticket is at most $50 to 100. Predatory tow companies will steal your car and shake you down for $400-500+ and often pretend they can't find your car and tack on predatory extra fees. All cash.

If you park somewhere and there are large signs saying you will be towed, then that isn't predatory.

If you park somewhere and it seems a little sketchy but ok, no signs, and you get back and there is no car, but a piece of paper taped to a fence that says, your car is at XXX address, that is predatory.

Yes, it is. They are stealing cars and extorting people for hundreds of dollars in cash for often a careless small mistake.

So in your world, it is perfectly legal to park for free on someone else's property.

I bet if you owned a small business, and people were using your parking lot such that customers couldn't park there, you'd not consider that a "careless small mistake".

How would you like it if someone blocked your car, and you needed to urgently leave?

I'd bet anything the manager made lots of cash off this. The tow tipsters get cash kickbacks, otherwise, why would they care. They don't own the lot or building.

Right. Because no manager wants to make sure they have enough parking for their own customers. Who are morons?

I bet if this happened to a MAGA small business owner's parking lot, they'd be livid, and would have no qualms about calling the tow trucks.

You are completely ignorant of the law. Private property is private. The owner can do what they want and hire who they want to enforce it. When you trespass on someone else's property, regardless of the reason, you are subject to whatever they want to do with your vehicle. It is not theft or extortion because you were never authorized to trespass. The car owner subjected themselves to this.

There is no LEO or court that would ever agree with you. You need to pay more attention, read signs. It is not a careless small mistake. It is willful trespassing on private property. If anything, the car owners are the ones who broke the law and if the DD manager wanted, they could sue each of them for damages, especially if they had to pay the towing company any fees.

Predatory parking scam or keeping your parking for customers not people who ignore signs. Either description works.

I was thinking he might have charged them cash under the table to park there and then called the tow company himself to free up the spot for the next rube.

That said, he may have just been frustrated with entitled MAGA jerks blocking paying customers from accessing the business.

The manager told people not to park in the lot or you will get towed. Looks like 99% of the people did not park in the lot. 12 people did. What do you people say about all those illegals not following the rules?

Rules for thee and not for me!

lol sure. He is on recorded as saying do not park here or you will be towed. Now the morons who did not want to pay for parking parked in the lot for hours. Why should anyone believe that these people asked the manager? These are the same people who said the election was stolen.

You are just making stuff up.

Both things can be true. It’s wrong to park in a place where it is prohibited for you to do so. And these towing companies are predatory.

They don’t care. They will tow your car,” said Kwabena Ekuban. “They will tow it with no remorse.” Ekuban was one of the lucky ones. He was at a local restaurant across the street from where dozens of people had their cars towed. He said this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened. “I go to this bar all the time. I get to see people on Tuesdays get their cars towed all the time,” Ekuban said.

Vs parking at the Bojangles Coliseum.

Most ticketed events include parking in the ticket price. This service isn’t available for every event and in this scenario the parking fee is $10 per vehicle. For non-ticketed events, there is also a $10 parking fee per vehicle. Parking lots at the BOplex typically open two hours prior to an event. Parking fees are subject to change for select shows.

lol typical. Did not want to pay $10 to park. On no that can not be…must be a conspiracy with the deep state!

I was seriously asking, and I still am: are you not capitalists? I thought the accusations of socialism or whatever was just the GOP being liars again.
