Any you ARE anxious if a single weird cycle and a couple pounds of bloat send you to the Dr. for metabolic and hormone checks.

How will I know when I get my period back? I asked a few hormonal docs online and they said for me to get all these tests done. It’s just weird that I am gaining half a pound every morning on scale with no period here. Will I keep gaining more and more until my period eventually comes back?

You are hyperfixated on your weight and what you are eating, and that is not normal or healthy. And what do you mean by you asked a “few hormonal docs online?” Why wouldn’t you just make an appt with your regular doctor like a normal person?

OP- everything about your posts is super bizarre and off. Do you have history of an eating disorder or mental illness?

I made an appt with regular doctor but first available is late September so I went to urgent care and they took some blood tests which I am awaiting results for.

You went to urgent care for this?

Yes. I also haven’t been sleeping right and experiencing constipation

You call your regular doctor and ask for a sick visit. I promise your doctor has appointments before Sept for acute issues. You don’t go to to urgent care bc you are bloated and missed a period.

Do you think it’s a big issue worth going to a PCP immediately for? I am conflicted as some says it’s just a wonky cycle

No I don’t think this warrants a doctor visit at all, and definitely isn’t something to go to urgent care for. But you already did, so…now you wait and they will call you if labs are abnormal. I don’t even think you needed labs done at all for one late period and bloat, if a pregnancy test was neg.

Women are late for the period or miss periods for many reasons. One missed period is not a cause for concern.

But now there is nothing to be done but chill your beans, eat less salt, eat some prunes, and give it some time.

Make a doctor visit appt if you miss another period. Do you have a gynecologist? If you don’t, it may be wise to get one

Thank you for this advice. It’s just concerning and annoying that the scale keeps going up every day despite no period and eating and moving the same as usual.

If you press your thumb HARD on your shinbone a few inches above the ankle and hold it for a minute, is ther a dent in your leg?
You could have a heart issue. Did your doctor check for congestive heart failure?

Oh god

Overtime nutrient deficiencies can mess up your hormones which in turn can mess up your cycle. It's one missed period, as others have said, your body will probably balance out once your next period comes. However, missing a period in your 20s is a little weird. Usually it's due to mental stress or physical stress. For whatever reason, your body does not think you are healthy enough to have a baby at the moment. Why is that?

Agree. People miss periods all the time

OP here. here is some of the lab results I got back. I am going back to urgent care doctor to discuss results and hopefully then get on some medication and see a specialist.
These were flagged as abnormal:
Creatinine 0.45
MCH L 33.1 H
Total T3 70.5 L
And then the other 2 thyroid tests which were surprisingly in range:
TSH: 1.430
Total t4: 5.8

This, plus your missing period, and your level of attention to your calorie intake make me think tour diet is likely the source of the low t3. Low term low calorie diets do this:

Op here, yes in for about 2 months I would eat 1k cals 2 days out of the week and my usual maintenance of 2k the other days. However, I stopped that over 1 month ago. A week after I stopped doing that, I ended up gaining this weight I am experiencing now. It’s weird as before I started this semi-cal restriction I was able to maintain my weight on 2k cals. I guess my metabolism slowed hence my symptoms. How am I supposed to speed it up without gaining more weight? I reverse dieted last year and it worked but don’t think I should increase cals even more since I’m gaining .5 lbs on scale every day.

I second this. Dieting too far definitely decreases thyroid function

So how many pounds have you gained now?

Why are you doing all this weird restriction and diets anyway? Clearly it isn’t good for you. How tall are you?

That was over a month ago…hardly a half pound of gained weight daily.

I am eating and moving the same as usual but finally decided to start going on walks every day even if the scale goes up when I do.
