You are a moron. We don’t need to pay more. The military volunteers are paid adequately. They join the services to escape their podunk towns and have everything paid for by the tax payer. If they don’t join whoopdeedoo. We can start a draft if we need more people. |
The Army is already there, these are not hypothetical Soldiers and families. We already have this size Army. We are abandoning our Service Members if we don’t adequately compensate them. Recruiting goals are not set by you or me. We can’t reach our recruiting goals now. |
Whenever someone says Trump called Service Members losers and suckers, I can’t understand why people get upset. People on dcum call our Military members that kind of stuff all the time. |
Service Member pay has not kept pace with inflation. They are already behind. |
Im not sure I understand what the issue is....they are doing a military wide compensation review and want that completed BEFORE signing a 19.5% pay hike correct?
"While Tuesday's statement from the White House suggested Congress should wait until the administration's review is done to make any significant changes to military pay, the senior enlisted leaders for all the military services earlier this year urged lawmakers to act immediately to boost service members' pay. Additionally, a House Armed Services Committee staffer told reporters last month that a 15% raise for junior enlisted service members is among the options the administration's review is considering. The White House's statement Tuesday cited cost as a concern with the House's plan. A Congressional Budget Office analysis released Monday estimated the increase in pay for junior enlisted troops would cost $24.4 billion from 2025 to 2029. The administration also argued that service members have already received significant raises in recent years, citing the 5.2% troops got this year and the 4.6% increase last year. "If the president's FY 2025 request is enacted, service members will have received a 15% basic pay increase in just three years," the statement said, though it would actually add up to 14.3%." |
Senior military leaders recommend this. They know lower enlisted troops are struggling. Bipartisan leadership in the House Armed Services committee recommends this. They have examined the issues. Lower enlisted troops can’t afford housing. How do you think that’s not problem? |
They can live in the barracks until they are e5 and then get BAH if they are married etc. |
Affordable housing crisis impacting Fort Carson soldiers, commander calls it a concern "Even the most senior official in the military on Fort Carson would not be able to match up their housing allowance with the median home price range for just a three or four bedroom house." https://www.koaa.com/news/covering-colorado/a...r-calls-it-a-concern FORT CARSON — Despite a government housing allowance, Fort Carson soldiers are grappling with affordable housing challenges as the Colorado Springs housing market continues to outpace their pay. Major General David S. Doyle, commander of the 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson, said affordable housing is a concern of his when it comes to the army base being a part of the local economy. Doyle said 26,000 personnel work on post at Fort Carson, but the base only offers 3100 family housing units. As a result, a preponderance of soldiers live outside of the installation in the surrounding communities. Most military members seeking to live off base likely have to pay more than their monthly housing allowance, especially if they have a family and need more bedrooms. |
Illegals deserve the money not Americans or American troops. Great job Joe !

And sending money to Ukraine hasn’t increased inflation? Biden is a corrupt money trapper. He and his son can grift and get kickbacks from Ukraine . He can’t get that from US troops. Don’t forget Biden is the same man who guilted Obama into paying off his house. I'll never forget the time that Biden shook Obama down for money to pay off his house. He basically came out and said he was going to have to sell his house due to money woes and move into an apartment and Obama basically was put in a position where he begged Biden to not put his house up (due to optics) and that he'd give him the money. It's funny how nobody mentions how greedy the Bidens have always been |
So, you think if we need more service members due to war, we can just draft them and send them off? Do you not understand that these service members need training on their roles, the munitions they use, the technology they have and a slew of other things. They cannot walk into the nearest Army HQ and leave immediately for war. Having a strong, ready military is the BEST weapon to PREVENT war. Sad you don't understand this. Seems Joe doesn't either. |
So they should be willing to put their life on the line for their country, but not be able to live with their family? Deployments keep them away from their loved ones enough already. |
This is where the billions that went to pay off college loans SHOULD have gone. |
+ a million I hope Republicans make a big deal about this. |
So does forgiving student loans, but for some reason that is super popular with Democrats. |
