Republican platform echoes Trump's vows for greater control over D.C.

I'm 100% against the GOP agenda and Trump EXCEPT for this. The status quo isn't working and I'm all for a control board 2.0.

lol Trump ruins everything not like there is one business he ever touched or looked at that didn’t go either belly up or all involved in jail.

So no he’s not fit to run DC

He will make DC his castle he will be king of them land that doesn’t install kings.

You all know what dictators do in power right?.

God help the US

LOL yeah ok. Trump with his long line of successful endeavors? Great, can't wait for DC to go the way of Trump's casinos, his "university", his travel site, his brand of steaks (?), and, oh yeah, let's add his 1-term presidency to the endless list of wins.

I don't oppose this in theory but it's laughable in practice. Anyone who thinks otherwise, I have some land to sell you.

This is BS political pandering. Realistically the president and congress have no time nor interest in actually running DC. If they did they might have already helped fill the significant judicial vacancies that are contributing to year or longer delay in trying cases. Let alone simply replace the current USAO.

Oh and actually do something with the large RFK site but the random senator Daines from Montana blocked that in committee (because he doesn't care one iota about the DC residents who live near that parcel of land).

Oh, wow, the OMG time bros have moved on from their glowing losses on the DC council and are now trying to portray DC residents as pro-Trump. Sure, ok. Totally believable.

You’re right. Let’s just keep going with the status quo.

+1. Control Board 1.0 gave us Tony Williams, who was a great mayor. Only concern is who the MAGAts would stack it with but honestly at this point I am okay with a much tougher stance on crime and some accountability on how all the "SJW-industrial complex" $$ on all of these "wrap around services" and "violence interruptors" is spent.

Crime would be under control. The worker friendly laws would vanish. The tenant friendly laws would vanish.

Crime is UP compared to two years ago, nevermind five, nevermind ten. It is down relative to 2023 only, the worst year for crime in 24 years. Stop with this nonsense obsfucation.

I mean, they are likely coming from lower cost of living areas and won't be able to buy or rent in DC or the close in suburbs, they won;t want to take the metro in and they sure as heck won;t want to live amongst people who don't look at talk like them.

The last time they all lived at the wharf -- SW waterfront, in the new(er) condos.

This didn't go how the OP expected...

Make DC great again!

I hear that Sotomayor is now a pro-gun activist.

Wait, so people really think a criminal in the White House is going do "do something" about crime (other than commit more of it)?
