If it were that easy, I would do it. Obviously, it's not that easy. Do you think I want such posters disrupting the forum. I originally created the Political forum because that was my personal interest and I was mostly bored moderating the rest of DCUM. I don't like the current state of the political forum and if I could fix it as easily as you seem to to believe, I would. |
DP, I’m satisfied with just having my suspicions confirmed. Thanks for all you do. |
Wasn't so much "paranoia" as a recognition of the same tactics and tenor and rhetoric over and over and over again. Maybe the site needs a rule for how many times you can post anonymously in Politics over a given time period before you get a time-out.
The jackhammering some of these nuts are doing is truly grating. I tried rebuffing it but it's useless and tiring, Jeff <should> have more ability to deal with it than any of us, the only other recourse I have is to put myself in a time out before I just get completely frustrated and demoralized - which is exactly what that poster wants. If you want that poster to run amok and run all over everyone, go right ahead. I'm out for now. |
Can I just add that these people spill over into other fora and take their obsessive behaviors with them.
I’m thinking of the Jill Biden Vogue cover thread in the Fashion and Beauty forum, where they’re trashing Jill over nothing related to fashion. Or in the same forum where they’ve launched a British Royal Family obsessives fashion thread where fawning adoration is required and any suggestion about frumpiness is immediately quashed or reported to you. And yes, two of the Kate worshippers have admitted to preferring Trump to Biden. |
The Vogue thread was originally in the Political forum but I moved it. I've also cleaned it up twice. Your description of the BRF threads is not accurate and the anti-Kate posters, including yourself, are nearly as bad. Repeatedly posting about two conservatives who also defend Kate is, frankly, insane. Who cares if they are MAGAs in that case? All the Kate threads are crazy and there are weird posters on both sides. |
They’ve both said things about how they’d rather have the BRF than senile Joe Biden, so there’s that. One even posted pro-Kate and pro-Trump stuff in the same thread. I get you don’t read those threads if you can possibly help it, but it goes on. |
PS. I’m also not “anti-Kate.” What I am is anti-fawning over eating disorders. That’s where you’ll mostly see my chime in. I haven’t posted any of the weird conspiracy stuff. |
Yes I believe that wholeheartedly in fact. They should have no forum or voice whatsoever. |
+1 |
I agree that the BRF has loonies on both sides, both pro-RF and anti-RF. If you are going to just go by those who detract from the forum, then Jeff should just ban all discussion of the BRF on DCUM. That would go along way towards eliminating crazies from DCUM. |
+1 MAGAs lie endlessly |
Maybe that area needs to be shut for a while like the soccer forum. The MAGAs are saying the same thing over and over, and I find it really suspicious that the talking point is about Biden stepping down. This seems highly planned. |
Everyone is talking about Biden stepping down. The New York Times ran an editorial calling for Biden to step down. This doesn't take planning, it takes being awake and noticing what everyone else is talking about. |
+2 And I suspect they sock-puppet, but I can’t prove that. Maybe they decided on another forum to come over here en masse. |
+1. I’d be down for that. I have no patience for the “William beats Kate” crazies, but the posters saying Kate’s figure is “perfection” (about a 2022, pre-cancer photo) and that Sarah Ferguson “doesn’t have the figure to wear stylish clothes like Kate does” (both posts within the past 2 days) are glorifying eating disorders or at least unrealistic expectations. And that’s actually harmful. Shut the whole thing down. No discussion of the BRF. |
