If it makes you feel better, I’m a moderate Democrat who is furious too, because of what we all know now was an obvious cover-up. I’ve cared for an elderly relative with dementia and it is so clear that Biden is declining (and has been declining for some time). So, the DNC has, in a disastrous ten minutes, managed to legitimize right-wing media in a way those media outlets could not do themselves, delegitimize mainstream media that did not cover Biden’s declining health, and also hand the election to Trump.
I’m not angry at Republicans any more than I usually am. I’m angry at the Democrats. This is squarely on the DNC. And yes, I am SO MAD about it all.

This is a whole lot of BS. The Democratic Party is run by centrists. The sort of people who support candidates like Clinton and Biden and oppose Bernie Sanders. Yes, the occasional poster on social media takes things too far. But, those folks have no power within the Democratic Party whatsoever. I am really over this entire "somebody on Twitter called me a name and now I support Trump" mentality.

Example of RWNJs using kids as pawns.
“Equity” programs are trying to get more kids into advanced math.
Meanwhile, the horrible, evil, red state of Texas is one of only a few states modeling a new law in which 6th graders scoring in the top 40% are *automatically* enrolled in advanced math, increasing the number of minority students from 1/3 to 60%. So tell us more about how liberals are trying so hard to get minority students into upper level math? https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/latino-black-enrollment-advanced-math-grew-law-tackles-bias-rcna119192
Thanks for linking to the exact equity program I had in mind. Texas is one of the leaders in “equity” programs that RWNJs whine about.

They are all over education and money. It’s gross.
Maybe step out of your echo chamber every now and again and realize that millions of Americans don’t agree with your nutty views and in fact, find them “gross.”
DP
My “nutty views” like we shouldn’t defund our schools? Like we shouldn’t make students political pawns? Like no one should be spreading lies/faux hysteria?
They are truly disgusting people. Millions of them.
Your “defunding the schools” is giving low-income children the CHOICE to opt-out of their failing schools and instead choose a school where they might actually receive an education. That you would consider school choice to be “nutty” or “disgusting” shows clearly how little you actually value low-income families.
DP
The disgusting people are the ones who are constantly trashing our schools and trying to make them worse so that they can “sell” school choice.
I care about kids from ALL low-income families. Not just the lucky few who were able to snag a spot at a private/charter.
DP. And yet your solution is to keep these kids in failing schools rather than give them a lifeline out. And that would be for ALL low-income kids, if not all kids everywhere. But sure, fight school choice and keep kids in failing schools. You sure have a funny way of "caring."
No, the solution is to fix the schools, not defund them and allow only a subset of them to leave.
Private/charter schools are not taking every single kid from these schools. Kids with LDs, SNs, EL, etc.

DP. You call embarrassing truths "fascist" - until it's finally proven that they were, indeed, true. As for elections without violence, I agree - I don't want that either. I certainly hope that if Trump does win, LWNJs are able to control themselves and not riot in the streets, per usual.
Gaslighting. We all saw who wouldn’t accept election results and violently stormed the Capitol.

Strawman. No one is claiming that people can change sex. You will always be XX or XY. Physical attributes can change. Gender is not a physical attribute; it is fluid.

No dear. When you make a claim, you should be able to support it. That's how sane people communicate.
But I suspect you can't support it because you operate in three-word Facebook comebacks that have no basis in fact or reality.
Nope. I’ve spent too much time here posting linked and sourced articles, only to be deleted because you don’t like what they have to say. Not wasting my time until this place accepts viewpoint diversity.
I post a fair amount of well researched articles. I do not remember the last time that a Republican clicked through and engaged with the substance. I get a lot of non-response responses, a lot of “here’s why I won’t read the Guardian.”
Sure you do, dear.
I do, “dear.” Condescension isn’t “diversity.” You’re a good representative of one flavor of totally non serious Republican poster. You offer no serious ideas and no substance.
The GOP is bereft of decent ideas. You cannot win on your ideas and promises, half of which are so heinous that you pretend that you’re only joking about them (like Trump and his military tribunals today), so you have spent years rigging the system and then projecting that the system is so liberal it’s unfair.
If you think you’re unwelcome here, it’s because your ideas are complete crap and many of your fellow “conservative” (what are you conserving, precisely, because it’s nothing so far as I can tell) are just low effort trolls.
So simple, yet no substantive response from you either.
I will assume that you embrace using tax dollars from the working class to pay for someone else’s elective educational loans.
And that you love the idea of reducing police officers in poor neighborhoods, and especially arresting people for crimes.
And that you think it’s completely fine for a 13 year old girl to have an elective cosmetic mastectomy.
So you’re right I am for preserving the conservative status quo, back to a time long long ago when people were required to uphold financial contracts, police were expected to arrest criminals, and confused teenagers weren’t encouraged to mutilate themselves. How reactionary.
Bless your heart you invented all those right wing straw men all on your own. You Republicans are so high up in your plastic ivory tower you don’t even know what normal is anymore. Shake yourself out of your stupor before it’s too late.
And yet you have no response justifying or defending the extremism coming from the left.
Why would I argue about something that is essentially an invention of right wing imagination?
Wow, your gaslighting is top-notch! Really expert, in fact.

The other PP shared a list of their right wing propaganda-tinged view of liberal politcs. It has nothing whatsoever to do with me or the politics of most liberals as it is literally the GOP media’s invention. If you believe that to be reality, you have chosen fairy tales. Weird, sad fairy tales, but fairy tales.
I’m not that PP. but seriously? You’re actually going to deny that the list PP posted of liberal issues isn’t accurate? How can you possibly deny:
Crime: liberals came up with the idiotic “Defund the Police” slogan and strategy. When called on it, they insisted we just “didn’t understand” what their asinine slogan meant.
Trans lunacy: liberals do, in fact, believe that biological men can become women. Right?
Education: this was called out in another post, but bears repeating. Liberals, in the name of “equity,” want to prevent ALL students from excelling (particularly in math) because it only widens the achievement gap between white students and minorities. Right?
Loan forgiveness: it is true that American taxpayers wind up paying for student loan forgiveness. Right?
Reality: Democrats have indeed been insisting that Biden is “spry and agile” and not diminished in the least. Except that the entire world has now seen what a lie that is/was. RIGHT?
Crime: where was it put into policy? A few fringe people saying it does not make it policy.
Trans: I don’t. But I will treat those people as the gender they present as because that’s the decent thing to do.
Education: no, I’m sorry, that is fully right wing creation.
Loan forgiveness: not really. And we have bailed out billionaires and massive businesses many times (including Republican lawmakers).
Reality: Biden is old. But Trump has flat out dementia.
Sorry, kiddo. You and the other PP are victims of right wing propaganda; you are fighting strawmen that have been presented to you as evil liberals, but it’s literally the creation of Rupert Murdoch’s empire (and sometimes Russia, a fact you won’t acknowledge). Stay befuddled, I guess.
I’m not trying to gaslight you but you posted a Reason opinion column, a copy of the same reason column syndicated onto yahoo, and a radio station’s paraphrasing of a Wall Street journal article, the only piece of reported journalism I could find on the situation, which makes it sound like a pretty unique one - it mentions a few other places that were considering something similar and a number of places that had rejected it. Also all of the links are almost 18 months old, so, rather than being an actual phenomenon it sounds like an isolated decision that happened some time ago.
Also there’s been no follow up to see if it worked or not, but in the WSJ article I found this notable bit:
“Those who support cutting honors classes point out that the curriculum of honors courses often doesn’t differ substantially from regular classes. Honors classes often move at a faster pace and the students complete more assignments. Some can boost grade-point averages or give students an advantage when applying for college.”

If anything, this thread has served to demonstrate that in addition to the pestilent MAGA posters with the posts like what Jeff demonstrated, there are a good number of utterly insane left-wing posters.
There are entire voting blocks of Democrats who feel exactly like I do, and worse for the Democrats, there are major donors who do. You can continue to pretend that all Democrats must adhere to your belief system, or you can join reality. My guess is that you will not pick reality, but one can always hope.

From the conversations I had with people like you, it seems to boil down that you don't like gay/trans people. And that you don't like the protections they enjoy. So you're willing to throw away our democracy in order to deny them basic rights. Makes no sense to me. If I'm wrong, tell me what Dems are "pushing" these days that you disagree with so much.
Crime - Defund the Police
Immigration - Abolish ICE
Trans lunacy - Some women have penises
Education - Advanced math is racist Loan forgiveness - Americans subsidize the choices of college graduates
Reality - Biden is spry and agile, the best he has ever been
Example of RWNJs using kids as pawns.
Funny how it’s ok when Texas or Alabama do it.
You seem confused. I suggest you reread the above links and think about for a while . Best of luck.
