My child was in tears the last day of school because they found out their favorite teacher was leaving. Every single teacher my child had in lower school has left…which is crazy to me because they were fantastic and helped my child be the confident learner that they are today.

We are currently researching other privates, as we are witnessing the school implode. The decisions being made at the top are questionable and while Gerald Boarman was problematic, at least it felt like he cared about the students and finding amazing teachers.

You are such a bad liar. Why would your child be in tears? He/she wasn’t going to have this alleged favorite teacher next year even if the teacher was staying.

Just another obvious lie posted by a very small group of former disgruntled employees posing as parents. No one believes you. Troll better.

My child absolutely was in tears. This teacher was able to encourage and reach my child in a way that no other teacher had. They were able to help my child go from a C to an A in their weakest subject. However, I am sure there were students who did not like this teacher. If you or others want to call me a troll, so be it. No skin off my back. It is of our opinion that the school has gone down hill and when we do look at other schools for our child, I personally do not want to see such high teacher turnover. That usually signifies a deeper issue.

We have been at Bullis for 8 years and what we loved about the school when we started there has changed drastically. It may now be a wonderful fit for some families, but it no longer is for us.

The problem with Bullis has been its board of trustees.

Bullis still doesn't know what it wants to be in the community.

For a school where you are paying $55K+ in tuition, you better make sure you have stellar academics and they don't.

Bullis is more aligned with Good Counsel which is $20K less a year in tuition.

Wrong - they do have stellar academics. And here's the proof.

Which school?

When you say “We”, I assume you mean disgruntled former employee.

Admissions Director is single most important job at a school. A lot of people noticed how well Bullis did this year. We have good friends from Bullis and they were really happy.

So why did they appoint the previous one to replace the one who left?

He stepped in as associate head of school when the previous head was a lame duck and to support the transition to the new head. I heard he didn’t want to leave admissions at that time but did it to help the school because they needed him in that role. He has said he is excited to go back to admissions, which he loves.

When we were at the school he was not a well-respected AD. It was during the previous Head years and he reflected that leadership. I think this is a bad idea for a school trying to change its reputation.

As any of us would also say if we were not permanently promoted.

Truth. Also, Bullis PR should just stop commenting here. They never seem to make it sound better!

New to the Bullis thread- how do they have such a strong track program for a relatively small school? It is impressive.
