Boo MISA scores?

Is a 4 on the MISA an A, 3 a B, 2 a C, and 1 a D?

I can't imagine, since less than 10% score a 4 historically.

Just got DC's scores from last year, which apparently were the scores used to test the AI grading being used this year.

For the state of MD,
Level 4 (Distinguished): 4% - cutoff 772/850
Level 3 (Proficient): 30% - cutoff 750/850
Level 2 (Developing): 41% - cutoff 731/850
Level 1 (Beginning): 25% - cutoff 650/850

Average score:
Statewide: 742 (Level 2)
MCPSwide: 745 (Level 2)

This is the MCAP scale. Do we know that MISA has the same scale? A lot of people seem to be confusing the two.

MISA is one of the MCAP exams. For the 5th grade test at least, the scale was 1-4.

My 9th grader said last week that his bio teacher said the school had the scores but they couldn't release them yet.

Why not?

Probably because the makeup test scores are not in yet.

We had an IEP mtg for my de today and I asked about the status of the scores and they said they are not factoring them until all schools have completed them. The county had until 5/31. I have no idea how they expect to get this done by 6/13 though.

Are you all talking about the life science scores? We seem to have just received those from last spring.

We know.... but this year the test counts for 20% of 9th graders biology grade so the score has to be out before the end of the school year. Please keep up.

Literally can’t keep up. Where is the communication on this stuff from MCPS?

Does MCPS set the grade scale, or does the state?

Can you request them under FERPA?

Excellent question. Anyone know?
Like could MCPS not be releasing it while studying how it impacts grades? Parents are going to raise bloody hell if the vast majority of students went down a letter grade due to the unproven testing while being guinea pigs.
