Happy for you, OP!
I found I could not tolerate a high fiber diet, my GI suggested that what I thought was IBS could be due to high fiber, and recommended a meat only diet for 6 weeks. All of my symptoms disappeared. For some there can be an adjustment phase to fiber, but if your gut does not adjust, you are not alone. For those it works well for, awesome! |
I had the same experience. My DH got diagnosed with early stage heart disease so we had to change our diet. Out with the cow and in with the fiber. I’m not counting calories and I’ve lost more than 20 pounds since February. It’s a challenge to change what we eat but it has made a huge difference and I’m not hungry if I get enough fiber.
There are lots of great cereals that are high in fiber such as the Qia brand. Add some berries to the cereal and you have a low cal extremely filling breakfast. |
You can get natto at H Mart.
I love when I eat a high fiber diet. Lentils and beans are so much preferable to me than meat generally. I make a great lentil stuffed pepper - I sautee whatever veggies I have (this week it was mushroom, zucchini, Serrano chili), add a can of diced tomatoes, a whole grain of some sort, cooked black lentils, and feta, dill, oregano, lemon juice. Load it up in a bell pepper half and bake like any other stuffed pepper. Delicious! |
That’s just a low carb diet. |
