Why not? It's cruel to not give your child the dignity of a real name.

I guess we have different ideas of what constitutes cruelty.

+1, go with your gut. They are similar enough that none is more right than the other. You might even wait until she's born and then pick the one that feels most right.

I think I'll say Polly is my favorite (underused!), then Pippa (cute but so tied to Pippa Middleton), then Poppy (cute, but ... same as PP ... I know many dogs named Poppy).

No, this is our first.

Poppy

Leaning away from Polly but not sure.

I like Polly, then Poppy. Not Pippa - I'm another pp who can only think of Pippa Middleton when I hear the name.

I think Peggy and Patsy are cute and retro-sounding, too
(... yes I know they're nicknames and TBH none of these are my style but OP obviously isn't looking for a Katherine or Elizabeth type of name so just trying to be helpful).

Did you consider Paige?

Briefly, but we want two syllables.

I like it as a nn but it isn't as cute for an adult

Can you confirm it has to be P and 2 syllables for some reason?

I would consider Penny and name Penelope.

Really? Who gets to say what is a “real” name?

Paging Dr. Poppy Smith? Polly is the best out of the three

At least it’s not swarsie

I like Pippa or Poppy of your choices, except that it seems more likely to spit on people when you say them. Also a lot of people call their grandfather poppy.

Love Penny, Phoebe and Paige.

Yes. We kind of liked Penelope in a lukewarm way, but both hate the nickname Penny.

Huh. To each their own but it's weird to me that someone who is choosing between Poppy, Polly, and Pippa would hate Penny (which I prefer to both Polly and Pippa by a lot). But people's responses to names are weird.
