Translation: I live through my children who watch me smoke weed.

Because it is. My rich friends eat edibles.

wait is this really true?

Eh. If you’re smoking somewhat regularly, you’re somewhat of a loser.

loser here
I eat magic mint. Takes an hour to work.
My husband smokes Colorado weed in the garage at night. It's funny because he got that particular weed from someone waiting for their prescription. Good stuff but I can't smoke it or vape. It's too harsh for me.
We are both retired and living the dream.
Don't worry what others do. It's your life your money.
But do get a card.

Notice how mean and ugly these DC people are ? Now that is pathetic. Especially coming from people that take every pharmaceutical known to man.

I know you. You're a arcade game in 1994.

DP here. You are apparently the stoner dropout hanging out in the arcade all day? I remember you, too.

I'm really surprised that you assume even drinking every night is normal. It's like there always has to be something numbing you? My brother-in-law used to be like this for 20 years and I hear has just started treatment for addiction.

Oh gosh, the smell is so potent. Your whole street will know you’re smoking.

Agree.

All the pot users I see around me are losers and low wage workers coping with their failed lives.

Like adult Spicolis.

Wow, hubby smoking in the garage. Life is great, huh?

Yes there are teachers on her who post how their kids in their class TOTALLY REEK of weed. Classy parenting.

The fact that you keep trying to justify the fact you're not losers and your kids reek of drugs in school and in public is just embarrassing.

Pretty much the entire population if DC is a bunch of pot heads. Nearly the whole city smells like burning pot for the last 5 years or so. You fit right in. Don't worry.

If you can't face an evening with all your faculties, at least choose an edible form of mindlessness so the rest of us don't have to live with your stench.

I don’t know where you're coming from on the West Coast. I'm from there too, in a city where we all live pretty close together, but I know there are places where your neighbors won't smell you there, too. In my DC neighborhood and the inner suburbs where my friends live, smoking can seriously stink up your neighbor's home and is very, very rude.

This, above. OP, if you live in a townhouse, rowhouse or apartment, or even in a single family home but it's close to other homes, just use edibies if you really need your highs. Smoking is a huge conflict issue because of the stench, which permeates everything. Walls and floors don't keep it out of others' space, and even smoking on a porch or balcony where neighbors have to smell it is frankly frowned on in this area, and could end up in some serious neighbor and/or landlord issues for you. You have alternatives, so use them.

Sad that you need drugs to make your life livable, hiding in the garage to smoke now that is pathetic.

Welcome to DC! In case you haven’t noticed there can be a real puritan/prudish streak here on DCUM. Luckily they are just a powerless minority faction here in DC so we just ignore them. We legalized years ago because many of us consume some form of cannabis for recreation. Enjoy the spring weather and take some nice outdoor walks before the summer humidity!
