This has not been my experience at all. DH and I don't use pot but I have quite a few friends and neighbors who enjoy an edible on a Saturday night. They say they wake up feeling much better than if they had been drinking the night before . These are all highly educated, affluent professionals. Hardly anyone I would call a loser.

Those in the know are all about edibles or vaping. Smoking is not common in certain circles and is more of a nostalgia thing.

There are two problems. 1) your dependence on awareness-blunting substances seems extreme. And 2) smoking marijuana is inconsiderate to everyone around you because of the smell.

If you can't face an evening with all your faculties, at least choose an edible form of mindlessness so the rest of us don't have to live with your stench.

I don’t know where you're coming from on the West Coast. I'm from there too, in a city where we all live pretty close together, but I know there are places where your neighbors won't smell you there, too. In my DC neighborhood and the inner suburbs where my friends live, smoking can seriously stink up your neighbor's home and is very, very rude.
