Part of it was UMD. https://www.hyattsvillewire.com/2020/10/02/st-elmos-fire-college-park/ |
Exactly. I think most people are just naming prestigious schools that they don't like. A lot of the most prestigious schools barely market at all. I'd give University of Chicago the "best marketing" award, because they do actively market and their work has blurred some negative perceptions. |
| Northwestern - Mean Girls, Devil Wears Prada come to mind, Home Alone too I think. |
The LAC winner is definitely Wesleyan. (I'm assuming that this is because Wes alumni are strongly represented in the industry.) How I Met Your Mother: Marshall and Lily Erickson and Ted Mosby are alumni. 30 Rock: Dot Com and Criss are alumni. (Many good jokes about Wes.) BoJack Horseman: BoJack was a professor. If the question were which schools are used to actually film movies and tv shows, the answer would be UCLA, followed by Occidental, followed by USC. |
Or somewhere nearby. |

The CASE Awards are for college marketing.

Definitely. I am an Oxymoron grad and I see that campus fairly regularly on screen. |
Oops! Stupid autocorrect: an *Oxy* grad. |

1 - this is a classic schill post so that someone can gripe about Northeastern, or Harvard, or UChicago
2 - the answer is obviously University of Phoenix. |

| Northeastern! The school sucked before. Not sure when this happened but now it’s a top school. It sucked, wasn’t in anyone’s radar ever. |
