| Like getting mentioned in articles, in films and in tv shows etc? |
| It's gotta be Northeastern, right? |
| Harvard |
| Chicago does the most. |
Northwestern? |
For sure. My DC, who would never have any desire at all to attend UChicago, gets mail from them on the daily. |
| Harvard noses out Princeton just because it has the law school as a super-strong iconic brand unto itself. |
Good grief. |
What movies/TV shows mention northeastern🙄🙄🙄 Princeton: a beautiful mind, admission, boardwalk empire Harvard/Harvard Law: the social network, a few good men, the firm, legally blonde, with honors, the paper chase, suits, scent of a woman, da Vinci code, MIT: good will hunting, 21, Independence Day, the recruit, six degrees of separation, iron man Yale/Yale law: lost in translation, the skulls, Billions, my cousin Vinny, Georgetown and northwestern seem to pop up on DC and Chicago set films. Some get mentioned in unflattering ways. Andy Bernard of The Office and Cornell comes to mind |
| The true measure of the effectiveness of marketing is the degree to which a product's desirability outstrips its quality. |
Imo Harvard's marketing WAY outdoes Princeton's. Princeton is the #1 ranked college in all three major rankings(Forbes, USNWR, and WSJ) yet isn't seen as #1 by the population at large. On the other hand, Harvard has scandal after scandal but is generally perceived as the top school. |
The most mailings doesn’t necessarily mean they do the best marketing. |
| USC has great marketing, considering all of the scandals.. |
St. Elmo's Fire! |
+1. Chicago and WUSTL have hurt their brands through over-aggressive mailings looked on with derision as transparent ploys to reduce their admissions rates. There’s a line between successful outreach and aggressive spam, and they crossed it years ago. |
