You apparently do not know the background here, and so don't understand the point the PP was making. (Although one wonders how you live here and didn't know this.) As another PP pointed out, "DC's youth rehabilitation act allows anyone 25 or younger to have their sentences minimized and record expunged for things like hate crimes, car jacking, assault with a deadly weapon, gun crimes."

The PP was pointing out that (i) if DC considers people 25 and under to be a "youth" for criminal penalty purposes, they should be considered a youth for purposes of crime prevention measures; and (ii) pointing our how ridiculous the 25 and under age limit is.

Sorry Democrats, you can’t have it both ways. If 12 year olds are mature enough to make decisions regarding gender affirming care like you claim then 18-22 year olds are sure as hell mature enough to make decisions about crime and should have the book thrown at them. You can’t have it both ways. If 22 year olds aren’t mature enough and should have leniency when they commit crime, then 12 year olds sure as S shouldn’t have access to irreversible health decisions like gender affirming care.

If you want to propose solutions for a city, the best starting place is to determine what the city is already doing, which non of you have done, clearly. And I suspect this means none of you have kids in DC, because if you did, you would know we already have a youth curfew and an enforcement program.

Crime is out of control but destroying BIPOC children’s lives is not the answer. How do they deal with these problems in modern progressive societies?

We don’t hear about these problems happening in Scandinavia or the Netherlands.

If you really care about BIPOC children’s lives, you would want to remove all bad influences from their lives. For the kids who can’t be saved even after interventions, put them on that proverbial island. Give the other kids a chance to succeed.
