| DC is considering CoC. We haven’t visited her but apparently it has an active Jewish studies department that has its own building, and an active Hillel. |
The Jews I know at UF hate DEI and LOVE Ron DeSantis. So factor that into your decision. If you are a committed Republican, you’ll enjoy it there. |
Yes, Tulane has a big Jewish pop. |
The progressive far left, including the DEI crowd, is a hotbed of antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiment now. You don't have to be a committed Republican to want to avoid them. |
Yeah unfortunately we're getting it from both sides these days, aren't we. I have a cousin at UF who I don't think is a Republican and she feels very comfortable there. Maybe she's R? I don't think so. She's actually wary of returning up north because of what she perceives as now rampant anti-semitism. Unfortunately we have actual Nazis in Florida to deal with. (I live in a different part of the state, not Tallahassee.) |
| Avoid Reed, Swarthmore, Williams, Oberlin, etc. at all costs. Snake pits of anti-semitic hell. |
It is in South Carolina do you not know how to read/ If Republicans win in 2024 what the hell are you not understanding about NO JEWS ALLOWED. Santee, SC 45 min from Charleston Trump bucks only as tender. No Jews allowed at Craigs Deli. Yeah already signs..... No your Jewish kid will not be safe in SC. |
UF is not a place to send college students religion doesn't matter. Jesus people UF is going to be unaccreddited. Medical school is losing staff like crazy, Professors in Undergraduate science courses are also. Ben Sasse the overload moron is now in charge. No Florida college is worth living in Florida with DeSantis. |

OP has to be a troll.
No Jew is this stupid about where they send their kids. |
Where are the pro-Hamas/anti-Israel antisemitic riots occurring? You had better figure this out sooner rather than later. |
| Minnesota |
You are batsh*t crazy. |
Not a troll and would send my kid to probably any of those. South Carolina only one that gives me pause. Anti semitism is everywhere- Ivies, Michigan, blue states and red. Some of these posters seem off their rockers. Hope they're trolls. After Covid, many people are fed up w the blue states anyways and their craziness. |
+1. |
When I went to school at Pitt, I made 2 Jewish friends from Bethesda. I had non-Jewish friends who joined a historically Jewish fraternity which I'd estimate was not majority Jewish. A lot of the Jewish kids are from metro NYC/NJ. Two of the more observant frat brothers lived in Squirrel Hill for part of college. Squirrel Hill is one of the more recognized Jewish neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. The Hillel is between Pitt and Carnegie Mellon in Oakland on the major road that connects them. I feel that Pitt students were not particularly aware of Jewish affiliation since Pittsburgh has had tons of immigrants from different parts of Europe. Lots of people had old country backgrounds not too distant...and a lot of the Christians were Slavic. So pretty easy to blend in. A baba and a bubbe aren't very different, especially if they are both slinging pierogies. I was attentive to these cues because I lived in Gaithersburg for one year in middle school and became much more aware of Jewish holidays, etc. Also my mom worked on interfaith initiatives. I cannot speak to current conditions but overall I would say the community would be neutral to positive for students. Unfortunately, prejudice can crop up anywhere. |
