I'm glad to see this post - a family member needs a favor (non emergency) requiring a local NOVA outing. Think I will decline

FCPS is closed tomorrow!

People: just because you are in an SUV does not mean you can drive like it’s nothing. SUVs don’t help you on ice. Slow down! I saw a lot of slippin’ and slidin’ today.

It refers to Duke St, Main St andLittle River Turnpike but not sure who uses the number.

Many people who grew up in the area refer to it as 236, especially in the Annandale area before it gets to Fairfax and is called Main Street.

+100 literally every one who grew up here calls it rt 236. Pp must be a newbie.

I'm in Fairfax not Annandale. We do not call Main St. 236!

lol perhaps because "Main street" is TINY compared to the rest of 236. lol lol

Wind chill has nothing to do with road conditions.

Slick and sloppy, trucks spinning out. Avoid at all costs.

Home safely Thank God almost didn't make it back up a hill to my complex. Saw at least 7 cars in ditches in a short distance.

Had I seen this post first I would not have left to begin with. Other posts were saying it's just wet out it's not just wet out that's for sure. The roads are very bad, very slick.

My summer tires have 1/64" of tread left. I should be fine.

Had to come home that way tonight; lots of back ups due to slide offs and accidents. Roads got worse as I got into DC.

It’s quite bad in nova. Please don’t speak for the whole region

I’m in Reston and all the main roads were totally fine this afternoon. I wouldn’t go out now, but it was fine before.
