SMU Rush

Early acceptance rate is 73% so clearly getting in isn't an issue unless you can't graduate high school or have some behavioral or financial red flags.

Both are vain and shallow groups.

You're very ugly, on the inside. They're a bunch of young women who are joining organizations which raise up women. I'm sorry for you that you've never experienced something like that.

We've all experienced groups like that, PP is correct.

Never would I want a daughter to be part of this garbage.

SMU is in Texas land that hates women. Great college choice. NO

Texas is not safe for any women much less college students. Where do you think your kid is getting a job after SMU? LOL parents wasted monies.

Nothing you said rebuts the pp’s comments. Policy means something. All this sorority stuff is crap, and frankly is part of what is wrong with this country,

It’s a top 100 school with a top 50 business program. Texas is booming and so is Dallas. SMU outplacement is fantastic. Please do some research before opening your mouth about things upon which you know nothing.

So is Tulane’s and Middlebury and…

These girls are wearing sneakers that cost $1k, jewelry that totals $5k and up, some very pricey outfits too. I don't get it - I have a very healthy household income and my college kid wears clothes from Target and LLBean.

UMC and MC students have a tough time during rush at SMU or UT. It's not impossible, but it's definitely a rich kid's world.

We know 3 MC UMC girls who rushed and got into great houses at SMU.

True. Most private colleges have Early acceptance rates much higher than RD.

Love it. I find it all fascinating. And The Society adds another element of drama to the whole thing. I feel like an anthropologist on a journey into a strange land whenever their tik toks end up on my FYP.
Agree with whoever said they all look 30. It's weird because the Alabama rush girls seemed to wear a ton of makeup too, but I didn't feel like they looked nearly as old!

Their regular rates aren't as high and yield not as low.

82% of Middlebury’s class of 2027 was admitted ED. And still a good school just like Tulane and SMU among others.

Tulane is ranked 76 and SMU 89 not that big of a difference and SMU’s business school is MUCH better.

This. Don’t like it? Don’t send your child there. It’s like they come out of the woodwork for Florida and Texas. But everyone hates a winner.

She grew up in Midland and was pretty middle class though. She was a Theta at SMU but it wasn't because she was rich - she probably had a hs friend in the sorority. She was pretty normal and was not a Bush until she was 30ish.

That said, SMU is nuts now. It has always been the USC of Texas but now it seems to have national appeal. Yes it is in HP and some HP kids go there but the kids come from all over. And yes, it is Dallas-type money not Tuscaloosa-type money. Much more sophisticated.

do you think Alabama's students are from tuscaloosa? think again.

A lot are actually. They have targeted scholarships for local students.
