I am relatively sure most teens get their information from TikTok. |
NYC is working on it. The foreign nationals part though, not cats and dogs. |
Clearly discriminatory. Cats and dogs over 14 should be able to vote to. Their lives are impacted by us. |

I agree with pp, the voting age should begin with 26 and cap out at 77. Foreign nationals should NOT vote because that allows countries to send people here and destroy the country from within.
In the same vein, those who cannot vote should not have to pay taxes. So, in their early years and retirement years, they get to save money. |
If they aren't going to pay public taxes, they don't need to use public services, like roads or healthcare. I fully support this plan. |
Considering the demographics of high school dropouts and graduation rates, this may not turn out how you are imagining. |
They can in DC, if they have been here longer than 30 days. Democrats hate foreign interference with US government, unless it benefits them. |

OK, you can vote as young as 14 but you only get to vote for 50 years. If you start at 14, you are disenfranchised at 64. If you wait until 21, you can vote until you're 71. Also, nobody over 75 gets to vote. Or hold public office.
The older folks bother me more than the young ones. |
| 80 Is a more reasonable stopping age. 20 to 80. |
| If you're legally able to work and pay taxes, then you should be legally able to vote. |
If an 80+ year old can hold public office, they can vote. |
This. There is a general shortage of sensible voters among all age groups, but teens don't yet have any idea which end they're wiping. Voting age should be 25-80. If we limited the vote to people who have mature reasoning skills but haven't yet lost their critical faculties, we would return to more sensible, moderate politics without the extremes plaguing us on both sides. |
I wouldn’t deny anyone the right to vote but I think there should be weighing of votes. A person with a high school or equivalent education, trade school, or a two year associate degree vote is weighted as 1. A person with simply a bachelors degree has their vote weighted as a 1.5. A person with a masters degree receives the equivalent of 2 votes. Those with a doctorate level education cap out at a 2.5. In this fashion people with demonstrated intelligence are rightly rewarded in determining the government and the trajectory of society. |
Still waiting on an answer to the bolded. And I think we should be clear that NOWHERE has anyone under the age of 18 voted in federal elections. |
