Updated US Club Lacrosse Rankings

The only halfway decent team they beat was Skywalkers and Skywalkers isn't even a top 10 team. They got waxed by the only two legit teams they played - Eagle Stix and M&D.

27 Cap Blue has a ton of talent. Remember - it’s a new team that’s still developing chemistry. They’ll peak in year 2.

I love it when the Md teams flaunt their rankings here but when Capital excels they suddenly don’t mean anything anymore.

They are top in the 25's but M&D and Hero's are close behind at 3 & 4
Not so much with those 26's Hero's 3 M&D 5 and Cap 9
27s are about the same Hero's 2 M&D 5 Cap 16

I must ask are they really excelling more so than the MD teams if you're using the rankings as a guide?

For recruiting, it is not about wins and losses. It is about being competitive in the best bracket that you can play in.

Historically the Capital teams fall between 7-15 their freshman years as they are usually a mix of girls coming from other programs. They learn to play with each other and in a new system. Usually they end up in the top 5 by the time they finish their high school careers. Other established programs are usually the same team from middle school into their high school club ie M&D, YellowJackets, Hero's and others. It is all about Development. Fortunately with the new recruiting rules it will benefit eh Cap 27's in the long run. Agreed that they need to play better teams, it was a fluff fall schedule though !

What are the "new recruiting rules" you reference?

I think we can all agree that the "Big MD 3" and Cap continue to do well in terms of recruiting. According to ClubLax.org, all 4 programs are in the top 5 of all clubs as far as 2025 recruits go. Don't think we need to get into a pissing match about who is the best. All are great options and if your DD can land a spot on any of the 4, the future will be bright (especially if she can make Black/Blue/Green/Blue...).

Well-said. Amazing that one town/metro area still supports three teams at that level nationally. Impressive that the DC area, less than an hour away, also has one in the top rank. Will be interesting to see how it all develops regionally with the continued growth and popularity of the girls' game.

Don't ever recall a Cap Blue team being ranked outside of top 15. Is the 27 team slow to gel or just not as talented as other Cap Blue teams?

I think you must be new here....it is there freshman year and they just started playing together....all Cap freshman teams take time.....check back next year this time for ranking and then a year later for college commitment list....

You ate the hook on that one!

Looks like Capital 2025 Blue fell off a cliff this weekend at Live Love Lax. What happened, did the coaches not have them ready? So much for being #1 (or maybe even top 5…)
