| OP probably hoped that HR would help with RTO and their desire to continue to WFH. When HR said get your a$$ in the office, OP was surprised. |
| We have a LOT of turnover in our HR department. |
+1 yup. OP is too naive to realize that it was management’s decision. Keep shooting the messenger OP. It’s working well for you. |
God, yes! Shockingly indiscreet. |
Same. Our HR department has a lot of turnover too. |
| My wife has served for many years as a Federal agency mid level manager. The unwritten rule is “Avoid HR at all costs.” |
I refuse to deal with them outside of mandatory forms, etc. I never speak to them unless 100% necessary. |
| Our HR department is pretty terrible but our HR partner is great and I’ve had some really good ones in the past. Like with everything at work…proceed with caution. |
They aren't helpful to anyone except executive team in most companies. |
| Why anyone would let these HR flunkies lord over them or their company is anyone’s guess. And they are flunkies. 9 out of 10 HR people are useless. The takeover of HR is here. |
PP here, I was in an executive team and they weren’t helpful to us a lot of times either. We’d come to them with a problem, after several preliminary steps had been taken and they’d start at the beginning: “have you tried simple first step example?” Or they talked tough but would back down, or they really didn’t know what they were talking about. I worked with three great ones who were super helpful, but they were often just as frustrating for us. |
