Interesting. They haven’t released their CDS this year for some reason. |
Duke’s CDS indicates the 25th percentile at 1490. Also that 93% submit test scores, before overlap is accounted for. Submit 1500 everywhere & definitely give college counselor the boot. The 1500 may help keep you in consideration. It definitely won’t be the reason your child is rejected. |
I agree but note that’s the fall 2021 data. |
At this point, admissions offices at places like Yale and Duke are very, very aware that a high score reflects money invested in test prep and not brains. |
This number will keep dropping. Very few California high school students take the ACT or SAT any longer. The UC and Cal State schools, along with Caltech now refuse test scores. Test optional schools have to be truly test optional if they want to compete in the biggest pool of high school students. |
Except when it doesn’t. |
You sound very bitter. No one but you believes that. |

100% agree. |
It is a new cycle with new rules. At least wait until year and some actual facts before having an opinion / complaint.
|
And this is a very important step. |
Umm. Not pp, but this is a pretty widely held, and actually very substantiated with a mountain of data, view. |
It's weighted 2x what GPA is weighted in the Academic Index that many schools still use. And you're taking issue with 10 - 12%? |
Really? What DOES reflect "brains" then? |
Huh? GPA and strength of transcript actually has been weighted at like 65% which is on the record. Academic Index isn’t used much since everyone went TO. Your frame of reference is dated. |
