| Just adding on, my daughter’s friend was accepted early at Penn last year and was not given an interview. |
^^ |
Nope. DS is waiting. At this point I have to believe it will not happen. Maybe a good sign? |
My understanding is that Yale has stated that because the number of interview slots is limited, they are reserving interviews for those that they need more information on. I think in REA at Yale no interview is either firmly accepted or a quick no, so you can look at it as a positive or a negative. We are hoping to avoid deferral so that ED2 remains an option. No interview request for daughter and we are assuming it wont happen at this point. |
Does deferral not free you to do whatever you want (as far as ED2 is concerned)? |
Since then need to schedule interviews within a week or two of the Nov 1 deadline, they must be looking at files really quickly to decide on firm yes/no/interview |
| Any insights on MIT interviews for EA? |
A friend's DC has theirs two weeks back. In DC. |
| Yale EA interviews should be starting soon at least in the DMV. Stay tuned! |
How do you know? |
Any idea why so late to begin? |
Because I interview for Yale. Yesterday was told assignments would start being made (at least for my area) and today I got assigned a student to invite for an interview |
Awesome! Thanks for the update. |
Yes it does free the child to apply ED2 elsewhere but ED2 is binding and it would be difficult decision to apply ED2 binding at a school less desired than the REA school if deferred. Our thought was to apply to a school outside of the top 25 ED2(to give a better chance of getting in to a good school) if denied. Daughter just got notified today of interview so we assume she has atleast made it past the first review but is not likely to get in REA. |
We were just notified today about interview with Yale. We thought it was too late. We were actually hoping for no interview as that would essentially guarantee no deferral. I feel like no interview means auto admit or auto reject but interview is in the middle and can go any of the three ways. |
