Our kids are just fine. One coffee or Zoom meeting with someone won’t kill them. If nothing else, this is an opportunity to connect with someone in a professional situation and practice their conversation skills.

I was referring to the second guessing that happens over getting or not getting an interview.

For the 100th time (see all of the threads here before) alumni interviews to Ivies mean squat and I went to Harvard and do alumni interviewing. Harvard doesn't care what I think. All they are care about is will I keep sending in my modest pledges so they can report it to USNWR.

As we know from the old Harvard guidelines, current public Yale ones, and the recent discussion by the former Stanford AO, the interviews may not be of much value, but they aren’t meaningless. Furthermore, USNWR no longer considers alumni contribution rates in its rankings so Harvard isn’t reporting that. Keep up.

Sorry, you can't base any of that in fact. or statistics. It is what it is and I am "keeping up" because I am doing interviews for Harvard. AMA

This is not true at all schools. They certainly seem to matter at Yale...

Just one data point but hopefully something that makes others feel a bit less apprehensive - my son was accepted REA to Stanford last year and was never contacted for an interview.
