I am shocked they don’t see the parallel between juvenile crimes rising and schools declining.

She truly is. She touted the fact that kids could lose extracurricular activities and be sent to an alternative school as "serious consequences" that should deter other kids from following in their footsteps.

She obviously doesn't know any actual teenagers or pre-teens if she thinks that's scaring any of them.

At a recent town hall someone asked about the increase in armed carjackings by teens and Mink said maybe we need to improve bus service so that teens don’t need to steal cars to get home… I wish I was making that up but she really said it.

Which party does she belong to: democrat or republican ?

I would think her answer and her shaved head hairstyle give her away, but she’s a Democrat. An extremely progressive woke liberal Democrat.

She’s so far left that I think she’s in another party.

This woman is a not a serious person. How did anyone vote for her?

Never elect a professional activist. I think a lot of people in her Woodmoor neighborhood voted for her without really doing their research. Hopefully they won’t make that mistake again.

I sincerely hope they don’t make that same mistake but I don’t give them a whole lot of credit. Does anybody know what the feeling is like in her neighborhood and in her district?

Everyone’s frightened by the crime crisis but most are afraid to say anything publicly for fear of being called racist. That’s my take and I live in Woodmoor.

I recently escaped from Woodmoor and it if full of the biggest mouthed, mean people that bully everyone not in their cliques. It is truly hateful. They have regular "woke-offs" on the local listserv and if you dare disagree with the current absurdity, the moderator mutes you.
It is a true echo chamber. Mink fits in that group like a glove.

That is positively not true. Yes, there are a few kooks, but people for the most part view them as such. We just let them screech and pat themselves on the back. Honestly, I can’t think of a single listserve issue over the last few years that was even controversial besides the pride flag. You think that all of the people in the neighborhood that send their kids to the catholic school (in the neighborhood) are voting for Mink? No.

Yes, most people are democrats, but it’s far from some woke enclave. Are you some anti-gay, anti-vaccine, flat Earther or something?

That's like when DC Council member Charles Allen said people were carjacking because they were cold and trying to warm up, as if that's an even remotely legitimate excuse to commit a horrifically violent crime.

There are no elected Republicans in Montgomery County and there haven’t been for 20 years. There are moderate Democrats (Andrew Friedson), mainstream liberal Democrats (Evan Glass), left-populists (Marc Elrich) and the woke left (Kristin Mink)

High neighbor! I live in Woodmoor as well and will never forgive people that put her stupid lawn signs up. They elected a buffoon.
And your take is spot on.

Don’t you remember a few years back someone was appalled that someone else posted a recipe for grilled watermelon on Juneteenth, and was calling for a boycott of some sort, until it came out that the person who posted it was a black chef? That was a good one!

There are definitely crazy people, but they are loud, not numerous, IMHO.

My suggestion:

Put troubled kids in an alternative program, and tell them that they need to get a GED if they don't want to go to juvie. If they age out, they have the same choice: get an AA or go to vocational school or go to prison.

They are pushing the exact opposite of “suspending and expelling kids who deserve it.”

The whole point of MCPS’ “restorative justice” is to keep the kids who commit crimes IN school, and eliminate as many suspensions/expulsions as possible.

LOL, that was a good one. Last year some kid (as it turned out) played a prank and took down the pride flag on the main flag pole and wokesters went on a massive hissy fit witch hunt for all the KKK people that had infiltrated their sacred space. Funny how they will give a pass for armed carjacking, but taking down a pride flag? Call the police!!
Then a poor woman with a specials need kid asked for help finding her daughter's cat and people LOST THEIR SH17 and threatened to ki11 her cat because we need to save the birds. A real leader would have said something, but Mink was silent.

Does she ever post on the listserv?

I am shocked they don’t see the parallel between juvenile crimes rising and schools declining.

They had a school to prison pipeline task force that developed a bunch of recommendations that were implemented and this is the result: declining schools and increasing juvenile crime. Of course they are now going to pretend that the two are not linked.
