They finally see the crisis.

Why do progressives stick their heads in the sand until there's a crisis.

Kristin Mink is like a Fox News caricature of an insane liberal.

I wish they would talk to MCPS and start suspending and expelling kids who deserve it. I know they don't want to have a special school for troubled kids but how about you lose your privilege to attend school in person and you are only allowed to attend school virtually for certain offenses?

She truly is. She touted the fact that kids could lose extracurricular activities and be sent to an alternative school as "serious consequences" that should deter other kids from following in their footsteps.

She obviously doesn't know any actual teenagers or pre-teens if she thinks that's scaring any of them.

Makes sense to me.

At a recent town hall someone asked about the increase in armed carjackings by teens and Mink said maybe we need to improve bus service so that teens don’t need to steal cars to get home… I wish I was making that up but she really said it.

I don't think she has teens yet; but her Chief of Staff is a former high school teacher at Northwood.

Hit submit too soon. So she should know better.

Listening to Lisa Garry speak, it's clear she has no idea what she's doing and has attempted to master the art of sounding like she's saying something while saying nothing.

When Luedtke pressed her on why kids who are released and reoffend get away with it and how DJS assesses that risk, Lisa basically admitted they use a tool that predicts the likelihood of them reoffending and go by that. So DJS has outsourced it's critical thinking and decision making to some flawed automated tool. The department is literally on autopilot.

This woman is a not a serious person. How did anyone vote for her?

I suspect some students might see that as a reward.

Never elect a professional activist. I think a lot of people in her Woodmoor neighborhood voted for her without really doing their research. Hopefully they won’t make that mistake again.

I sincerely hope they don’t make that same mistake but I don’t give them a whole lot of credit. Does anybody know what the feeling is like in her neighborhood and in her district?

Everyone’s frightened by the crime crisis but most are afraid to say anything publicly for fear of being called racist. That’s my take and I live in Woodmoor.
