Yep. You broke it. You own it.

OK. This seems like a reasonable sentence to me. Next?

Is it going to seem like a “reasonable sentence” when he starts victimizing more women after his light vacation in juvie when he’s 18-20? Or just if he engages in some light groping, that’s ok, but if/when he escalates to armed assault or rape, then it’ll be “oh no how could this happen??!??” What about if he starts posting his videos on sketchy websites for other guys to get off to or get inspiration from?

Also something tells me if this guy was harming animals people would be screaming to throw the book at him because it always escalates to more abuse. But harming women? It’s alright, he’s “just a kid.”

So your panties are in a bunch because he MIGHT do something in the future? You want to lock him away for years for grabbing her crotch (over pants)? GMAFB.

I wouldn't. Hell, I wouldn't want to be his teacher.

This sentence is far too light.

I’m ok with it after he’s gone to the treatment program.

He should have been tried as an adult. He did some pretty heinous crimes.

I hope this guy gets expelled if he is in school. No one should have to go to school with someone like that.

I hope Arlington, VA gets blasted in the national news for this too.

Groping = “heinous”?

Yeah, these hysterical women sure have their "panties in a bunch." What's the big deal about grabbing crotches and filming seven women? Boys will be boys!

Clearly Arlington voters disagree. When you elect prosecutors who think criminals are victims of the justice system, these sentences are what you get. I would hope the victim would sue him just so that his name will be forever in the public record

He’s not a victim…yet. Let’s use our resources to put him on the right path instead of locking him away. He really is just a kid.

PPs are acting like it’s more serious. “Heinous”? Yeah, that falls under hysterical (male or female).

It’s a crime and he is going to serve time and get treatment. Done.

Oops I mean 5 victims. He stalked them and some of the assaults were worse than this. But he did say that he was sorry if he "offended" anyone. It's not like it's a pattern!

Next time OP gets a speeding ticket I think she should be imprisoned for 25 years because it could have been a dui vehicular homicide

OP - I think you are seeing why crime in the DMV is hard to control right now.

We have people here who think that a 17 YO who sexually assaulted numerous women should get a light sentence because he is just a kid and needs reforming.......

So, you are getting an idea who are voting in the prosecutors and others who are responsible for sentencing and enforcing our laws.
It explains a lot.

They want "criminal justice reform." That is, until the criminal comes for them.

Yup. We won’t be happy when she’s plowing down pedestrians left and right.

What do you think is an appropriate sentence for a minor who groped someone?

OP was sexually assaulted by a stranger while walking her dog. Turns out the Arlington police caught the guy and he was a 17 y/o HS student. He was convicted on additional sexual assaults on strangers in the area AND recorded ALL of them! Despite all of this, he was sentenced to 10 days in juvie, 80 additional days suspended, and a sex offender treatment program. No SO registry. He will be back at HS after he finishes his juvenile sentence.

They’re going to let this guy off with a slap on the wrist and he’s going to offend again worse and more innocent women will be victimized.

I want to know what the success rate is for the particular sex offender treatment program he must take. Is this truly an attempt to help rehabilitate him, or just window dressing? Does Arlington have decent probation oversight and accountability?

Considering that this appears to be a pattern of behavior...... More than juvy.
And, he should NOT be allowed back to HS. He can finish HS and get a degree in an alternative program.
I question whether sexual assaulters can be reformed. And, we see time and time again where "minor" assaults progress to more heinous assaults.
We shall see with this guy.

wow thanks for revealing yourself. yes, hiding in the bushes to jump out and grope FIVE women (while filming it!) is heinous and pretty much proof of a very disturbed mind. I don’t think he should be in jail but probably some kind of residential treatment facility for at least a year. something is seriously wrong with him.
