GMAFB. You don’t have teens, do you?

When I drop my DD off at high school, half the kids are in PJs and sweatshirts or crop tops. It’s definitely a thing. I can’t imagine policing that.

And to say “parent your kids” over that is just…the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. I’m sorry but no way do you have a high schooler.

Agreed! If this is your biggest worry, you need to wake up. Pajama pants and crop tops (which does annoy me a bit) is what mine wear almost every day.

It's a thing. I hate it, but it isn't a fight I want to waste my time fighting against.

What grosses me out is that the PJ bottoms are always so long and drag on the ground as they walk. The teens then come in and lounge all over couches and beds in those same disgusting pants.

My DD and her best friend had a sleepover where both girls wore PJ pants out during the day, slept in the same PJ pants in her bed, and then wore the SAME pants the next morning to go get breakfast. Tossing on a different hoodie completely changes the outfit, apparently. They both looked at me like I was crazy when I told them no, that wasn't true at all.

My kid knows to treat them like regular clothes, and she must changed before getting into bed.

Parents focusing on their kids and other kids attire and judging them are the worst parents. I said what I said.

Again, there’s no F-ing way you have high schoolers. Zero chance.

Yes, it is unfortunately a thing. I still argue and complaint about it tho, because I don't think it's a trend to encourage. Unless it's Pajama Day or something.

Why? Because there are appropriate clothes to wear for appropriate occasions. It is disrespectful to wear sloppy, sleeping clothes to school. And to the prior poster, yes, I do have teenagers. 4 in fact.

NP here. I have 3 in high school and 1 in college. No f-ing way they are going to school in pajamas.

It isn’t my biggest worry at all. However, my teenagers (yes, I have them) do not wear PJs outside the house. They wear dress clothes to church, a collared shirt out to dinner and a coat and tie to a wedding or funeral. Yes, I consider it my job as a parent to teach them these things.

Who exactly is it disrespectful to? I’m going to take a guess that the people working in the schools would prefer a polite, quiet kid wearing pj pants to an obnoxious bro dressed like he’s headed to the University of Alabama. Also what is the difference between sweatpants or athletic leggings or flannel pj pants?

My kids do those things too and still wear pj pants to school occasionally.
