| After the utter disaster and national embarrassment the FCPS school board foisted on FFX county on so many, many issues, there is no way my household is voting for any “D” candidate. |
Did you read about Maureen Brody, pictured above? “His mother, Maureen Brody, also attended the Jan. 6 “Stop the Steal” rally that turned into insurrection; she once posted on Gab, the white supremacist-friendly social media platform, that she got near enough to the Capitol that she and others were targeted with tear gas. Footage found by anti-fascist researchers also appears to show her on the building’s steps — a restricted area. Months later, Maureen Brody was named as the Republican nominee for a seat in the Virginia House of Delegates. During her campaign — on June 21, 2021 — she posted a photo to Gab showing her standing behind a table draped with an America First flag. She was running in a heavily Democratic district and lost in the general election by 30 points.” (America First is a white supremacy group) |
| I've been voting solidly D for as long as I can remember. I will likely continue to vote D for Sen Marsden & Del. Helmer, in addition to my supervisor, Walkinshaw. However, I'm stuck with the school board. I've been considering voting R to balance some of the nonsense we've had with FCPS. That said, I've gone through the list of candidates and many of the R options seem extreme. I'm at a loss because I'm not happy with the Ds. |
| Why would I know who my neighbor is voting for? |
| The direction the democrats took the school board in means I’m voting straight R this election. |
First time you’re voting for a prolifer who is an election denier? |
Signs on their lawn? Bumper stickers? Over the fence chit chat? |
Oh please! You have to agree; any sane person agrees: the current board is a total disaster. They are a single-party echo chamber. They have repeatedly indicated they won’t listen to anyone. The only solution here involves electing at least a few Rs to the board. The current board’s past behavior is indefensible. |
People aren’t just voting for the school board. They’re also voting for state legislators. |
Manufactured? Biden is trying to change Title IX so that men who either believe they are women or who are pretending to be women can play girls' and women's sports, use their bathrooms and locker rooms, be sentenced to women's prison, use women's shelters. |
PP said straight R ticket. What does the SB have to do with Richmond? |
I was simply commenting on PP's canned response. |
Republicans continually use the abortion discussion as a political tool to bind the conscience of Christian voters; the Christians feel they MUST vote Republican or else they are sinnning. Republicans take advantage of this to get votes, then do whatever they (Republicans) want to do in office in area that are not related to abotion. So yes, the abortion issue matters. |
| Oh, and no one cares who you are voting for (why would this be an interesting discussion? you are one of millions of people in Virginia, your vote is as interesting as what you had for dinner) and you do not care who others vote for, unless they are voting for your party. Your whole point in creating this post is to advocate for your candidates and your party. |
Same here. Dave Marsden is fine and Walkinshaw isn’t offensive. Vivian Watts is wonderful, the school board is just downright awful, like a PP said, they need a wake-up call! |
