Im in the Sully District. Our school board options suck but I’ll be voting for Keith Elliott for supervisor. Kathy Smith does nothing

I hope so. I no longer vote a split ticket because the stakes are too high.

Every one of my neighbors shoot guns in my neighborhood. It's quite cute seeing my twenty something husband and wife shooting together!! I think I know who everyone is voting for.

Common sense gun control?

+1

Women in VA are in real danger of losing rights next year.

Facts:
-All other southern states have banned/restricted abortion except for VA.

-Our current governor clearly said he would protect all life. And that life starts at conception.

-We only voted down abortion bans in the VA early this very year (!) because the Ds have a very narrow lead in the VA state senate.

Mostly Republican. I do like my Delegate David Bulova though.

I’m sorry but county offices don’t control things like abortion lol. Anyone saying they absolutely “have to” vote for their incompetent Dem rep on the county board or school board due to “muh abortion” is arguing in bad faith and admitting the following: A) you know the current crop of Dem candidates are deeply flawed and they have done things objectively bad. B) you’re a partisan hack who would find any reason whatsoever to justify your Dem vote.

Don’t hide behind abortion when defending your vote for the crappy Dem candidate. They suck and you know it, just embrace your vote for them at this point.

I do. That's one of the ways I know PP needs to turn off MSNBC. I mean, Dems are now supposed to pretend that we don't know what a woman is. So it's ironic for someone to say that Republicans are trying to take away women's rights.

Exactly this. So sick of morons inserting abortion into discussions about the school board.

I vote straight R, but live Inside the Beltway so most of the local offices here is Solidly Blue. The only competitive offices I can vote for are the At-Large School Board, Clerk of Court and Water and Soil Commission in Fairfax County. I'm also surprised there is no Republican running against Descano since he doesn't have the best reputation and that seat could be competitive.

People who care more about a manufactured LGBTQ issues than a woman’s right to control her own body probably aren’t D to start with.

This is a thread about all elections, not just school board seats.

Try to keep up.

I absolutely will not vote for Chapman. He's rotten to the core.
Still undecided on school board candidates (both our district and the at-large seat.)

Agreed. Although Chapman will prob get my vote (Buckley is just such an awful candidate). Mike Turner seems fine but Tumay Harding is really nice and her story for getting in the race in inspiring. Mahedavi is awful on the school board and is downright mean. Griffiths is impressive. She has my vote.

Mike Turner is a blight on his district. He’s nothing more than a shill for the developers who are ruining Loudoun.

So to quibble, local things like zoning and chief prosecutor do affect abortion rights.
But, PP and others were not limiting the issues to abortion, and women's rights are not just abortion. It's disingenuous to erase women and LGBT issues and democracy/voting rights from the conversation just because you can't win with people who care about those.
