what are your best "finds" on Nordstrom Rack?

This is helpful! What am I looking for on the tag? How can I tell it is from the original store?

Former retail employee. This won't necessarily help you everywhere. Not sure how things work at Nordstrom rack, but when we had our biannual sales at my store we would get big shipments of product that our buyers had purchased that ended up not being good enough to go out on the floor in stores. All of it had regular tags as if it had been in store at a regular price, and we would scan the barcode on the tag and put the clearance sale price on there. So, for example, in our store, all of our sweaters were $69.95 -- and we'd get the shipment of these crap sweaters that were bad enough they didn't want them on the floor dragging down the brand, and these crap sweaters would have the normal $69.95 price tag on there just like every other sweater in the store, and we'd scan that tag and put the orange clearance sticker on there for, oh, say 35.88. So customers would think they were getting a 65.95 sweater at a big discount. But the company would never have been able to sell it for $69.95 because it was trash, which is why it hadn't ever been in the store in the first place. No difference on the tag between stuff that had actually been in the store and the junk that arrived just for the sale rack. Sometimes people would get so excited about the supposed discount that they'd buy stuff that was awful.

I think you can tell at Nordstrom rack because the higher end items in store tend to be one-offs or have less stock in the store. The original store tags are also very obvious and usually have multiple layers of stickers.

I just bought the most comfortable Natori bras this week. I mean they are absolutely like wearing nothing. I also bought a moto leather jacket for $100.

I purchased a Rebecca Taylor tweed dress a few years ago on clearance that has held up amazingly well. Also had success with Alexia Admor.

I agree about fewer gems to be found. I use to score a ton of finds at the Marshalls in Tyson's Corner, but that and all Marshalls are useless these days. Nordstrom Rack is not far behind but still can find things every now and again.

I find the best selection around 10:30 on Tuesdays. You gotta beat that lunch crowd.

On the site shoes for sure.

I just found a pair of Hoka One One (black) at the Penn Quarter rack for $49.99. I got in there twice a month maybe. Always get Wacoal bras and found some Eileen Fisher pieces there. Always look carefully at the Designer rack.

Just saw Hokas there a week ago!

Vince warren sneakers, natori bras, Zella workout clothes, James perse t shirts. Nordstrom house brand wool sweaters. Barefoot dreams throws and robes. (As a somewhat sober aside the robes are the best for people going through cancer treatments). Men’s dress shirts. Sunglasses.

Not at Nordstrom but at Saks Off Fifth.

It was a true unicorn buried among the clearance racks. A designer blouse made for a trunk sale customer which happened to be my size and they returned it for some reason. Not worn, still with all the custom tags/info on it. Checked designer's website and it was legit.

The price was $3900. I got it for $50.

PP. Oh, we put multiple layers of stickers on the crap that came into the store just for the sale -- stores will do that, layer up the price-tags to make you think something has been marked down multiple times. Multiple layers of price tag stickers doesn't necessarily mean it was in the original Nordstrom or even that it's been marked down multiple times.

YES! This is the only bra I own. I went to Nordstrom 8 or 9 years ago for a fitting, tried on everything they had, and picked this bra, which was $70. One day I went to Nordstrom Rack and discovered the exact same bra for $29. I have only bought them from NR ever since. It's perfection. In all these years, I have never found another bra that fits me better.

Costume jewelry, too.

Sterling Forever has a lot of stuff at Nordstrom Rack. I'm allergic to most metals, so finding gold plated/vermeil necklaces and earrings for cheap is fantastic for me.

My friend loves Eye Candy and they have a ton of really gorgeous statement necklaces at Nordstrom Rack.
