The benefit is we will definitely skip the booster shot.

Why?

My daughter tested positive last Monday. I kept her home all week. She goes back tomorrow, masked through Wednesday (day 10). Please be responsible. I'm sure my DD caught it from a kid whose parents just sent them to school anyway.

The quarantine has not been 10 days for a very long time now.

Five days is what the pediatrician said. School holidays and now she goes back masked. We’re teaching ethical, caring behavior here.

Here’s one of the many reasons I’m quitting teaching.

Charity begins at home. Do your research about the effectivity of masks and the harm to those who wear them. Keep them at home if you think they are still contagious. Better yet, keep them home so they can rest, eat well and drink plenty of liquids to allow them to fully recover, minimizing that way the risk of a rebound infection.

What research do you know about the "effectivity" of masks and the harm they do to those who wear them? Do tell. Share your scientific sources. Also curious about this phenomenon of "rebound infection."

Yes. Please share this - especially as it relates to a consensus in the scientific community. Would also love to see this compelling evidence from reputable sources.

If she's postive I would just wait a few days. Same as I would with flu or strep or HFM or any other illness that differs in severity among people.

You're awful.

The person isn’t “awful”. No fever, no sneezing and rarely coughing? We wouldn’t consider testing either.

2 Teachers

2 Teachers?? Ugh.
But she did test. And the kid is positive. Maybe in your "ignorance is bliss mentality" you just wouldn't test at all. But the reality of this post is that even with those mild symptoms she did test.

I hope you also stopped going to the grocery store, and all indoor entertainment.

Not pp, but I would skip it too. Having covid is basically like getting a booster shot.

We aren’t going to test every time we are tired or have a scratchy throat or headache. That’s a lot of testing.

If you feel sick, stay home.

Better.

The boosters are ineffective.
