That’s exactly what I see too. These are all places that one has traveled. The op asked for favorite, not just a list of places your kids have visited. |
My kids are similarly international and have traveled around the world for tourism and to visit family. Their favorite vacations were to the Black Hills of South Dakota, and to Wyoming and Washington/Oregon. |
| I think my son's favorite was Berlin. I took him when he was 10. It really affected him. He was tremendously moved by the dome of the Reichstag. He really loved that city. He even wrote a poem about it. |

| Paris. My daughter loves it. Eiffel Tower, Lux Gardens, Rodin Garden and Cafe, L'Orangerie museum to see the giant water-lilies. She loved it at 7, 13, and 18, Now she goes regularly on her own in her 20s. |
| Agree Paris is great for kids! We took our elementary age kids there last year and they still talk about it all.the.time. We went to the Eiffel Tower every day for pictures and picnics. Stayed in an airbnb. |

My son’s favorites have been London and now Copenhagen
London (visited at age 7 and 9) - loved riding trains and Tube - Tower of London, HP studio, Princess Diana playground, etc - did small trip to Drayton Manor for Thomas Land which was the highlight of both trips https://www.draytonmanor.co.uk/explore/thomas-land Copenhagen - loved Tivoli gardens (went twice!) - loved train and subway - great visit to Kronborg Castle - visited Lego store but didn’t make it to Legoland - easy city to navigate and he loved the old world but modern feel He did not enjoy Paris at all 😔 but did enjoy the Eurostar experience We are planning to go back to London and also planning to visit Japan |
| Lots of folks just listing countries. Please tell us the details that the kids loved, like the PP Paris poster did. |
DP. My kids really like Bavaria. They like hiking and seeing cows and stopping at mountains huts for meals. They love swimming in the lakes and dipping into mountain streams. They enjoy toboggan rides. They liked the tour of Allianz Arena in Munich. They liked the Munich Zoo when younger. They liked the playgrounds at the Biergärten when younger. |
This is so sweet. |
From the Tesla set no less, lmao |
I am the poster of the original quote. I warn to emphasize to keep it "small" and do-able for the younger kids. Our trip with my daughter at 13 was nearly identical to the one at 7 -- she wanted to see again everything she remembered. Keep to the smaller museums. We added the Orsay, the Louvre and Versailles when she was 18 as those were basically all-day excursions. Having an apartment meant we ate out at simple cafes for lunch and had breakfast and dinner in the apartment. At 13 she would go the boulangerie by herself in the morning to get our baguette. Building confidence each trip. We went to local outdoor markets and bought fresh veggies, flowers, etc there. We learned the metro and buses on the earlier trips so by 18 she was off by herself on some excursions when we had different ideas for the day. She did a year abroad in France in college as she was double-majoring in Economics and French. No need to overwhelm younger kids with adults' expectations. Do things that make the kids want to come back. |
My thoughts exactly. One of the least helpful threads I’ve ever read in Travel. |
My kids like everything too. The only exception would be museums, which are kind of a drag for them. Internationally, they loved Scotland. Edinburgh is a manageable city, loved the castles and enjoyed hiking in the highlands. That said, kids are easy travelers and enjoy Ocean City, Canaan Valley and OBX as much as flying overseas. |
