I just Google this - he was so handsome. I feel sorry for his mother… work hard, more than one job in order to provide him with the best education possible and have him throw away his life.
This guy was given many chances, including a very short stint in jail for murder. He could have come out and change his life - he was still young and could have turned around. But went on to deal drugs, went back to jail and I’m certain he will be back soon. Hopefully not for killing anyone this time. The older I become the stronger I believe that some children are just born broken. Something is wrong in the wiring and they are bad seeds. I don’t believe it is genetic, just something else. Maybe one day we will find out why some people are like that. |
| How many years did he do? |
15 the first time, 15 or 17 the second time. |
Keeping murderers in prison is a priority for many of us. |
15 each time. Maximum sentence the first time, a few years shy of maximum sentence (19 years) the second time. |
She is a moron. And let's not forget how the Catholic church helped with his case. |
Do you know if there were siblings. |
What did the Catholic Church do? |
| Yes, he will mess up again and get locked up in no time. He has no money and unemployable. Wish sentencing guidlines were changed after this. |
A bishop and priests wrote letters of support, including for bail. Mother was apparently heavily involved with the church. |
Genetics play a big role. |
Actually more and more the neuroscience is pointing to genetics, including the epigenetic transmission of trauma, and early childhood experiences particularly various traumas (ACE score) as making people the way they are. Sorry, parents - you mostly *are* to blame. The guy who pioneered much of the American research on psychopathy learned after years of research that he had the brain patterns of a psychopath himself - but was not triggered to full blown antisocial psychopathy because he was raised in a loving and nurturing family in early childhood. https://www.smh.com.au/national/this-neuroscientist-accidentally-discovered-he-was-a-psychopath-how-can-you-pick-them-20220608-p5asat.html# How we treat children should be the focus of an abundance of resources, from education of parents before they are parents to providing abundant resources to fill the gaps for children with emotionally immature parents who cannot nurture well even with education. Because we don’t really prioritize children nearly as much as we should, we are raising new monsters all the time. Who knows how Robert Chambers got to be a monster? Our culture certainly leaves plenty of room for men to feel entitled to women’s bodies and to enact violence on them. Maybe his blessed mother who worked multiple jobs to give him opportunities was on the flip side a cold critical demanding b**** whose relentless control of his life drove him to hate her and like Edmund Kemper and countless other men who kill women, he killed Jennifer to channel the desire he had to kill his rejecting demanding unloving mother. You have no idea who she is, you just made assumptions but mine are as likely as yours are. |
He was an only child. For probation has to stay in NY, so probably with his mother or (ex?) girlfriend. https://nypost.com/2023/07/29/preppy-killer-robert-chambers-under-supervised-parole-in-rockland-county/amp/ |
I wonder why Rockland County, which only has a few small towns. Maybe some kind of work release program? |
Seems likely given he’s now spent the majority of his life in prison, plus his long-term addiction. Doesn’t make sense to drop him back into society cold and hope for the best. |
