Actually more and more the neuroscience is pointing to genetics, including the epigenetic transmission of trauma, and early childhood experiences particularly various traumas (ACE score) as making people the way they are. Sorry, parents - you mostly *are* to blame.

The guy who pioneered much of the American research on psychopathy learned after years of research that he had the brain patterns of a psychopath himself - but was not triggered to full blown antisocial psychopathy because he was raised in a loving and nurturing family in early childhood.

How we treat children should be the focus of an abundance of resources, from education of parents before they are parents to providing abundant resources to fill the gaps for children with emotionally immature parents who cannot nurture well even with education. Because we don’t really prioritize children nearly as much as we should, we are raising new monsters all the time.

Who knows how Robert Chambers got to be a monster? Our culture certainly leaves plenty of room for men to feel entitled to women’s bodies and to enact violence on them. Maybe his blessed mother who worked multiple jobs to give him opportunities was on the flip side a cold critical demanding b**** whose relentless control of his life drove him to hate her and like Edmund Kemper and countless other men who kill women, he killed Jennifer to channel the desire he had to kill his rejecting demanding unloving mother. You have no idea who she is, you just made assumptions but mine are as likely as yours are.[/quote]
